70s/80s Japanese/Canadian electronic lps

   Are there even such beasties in existence? 

Im talking about Berlin-school-type sound or melodic (proggy) ,    NOT  avant/noise (of which Canada DID have some releases - like the IMPACT sampler, for instance.)

From Canada I can only think of the Pascal Languirand lps - and they are not straight electronic. Also  the Tangerine Dream-ish  lp by group , Vernal Equinox.

For Japan - well...damned if I can think up a single one.
Fukamachi maybe.

I guess some Kitaro.

	Wow! Didnt realise Bearns & Dexter and Lucifer were Canadian artists. How could I have forgotten Mort Garson! From that Pugachov Canadian electronic list: Eclipse, Michel Mador and Dionne/Brejent lps should NOT be listed. Myhael Danna is now ,as you know, a rich soundtrack producer. The Danna & Clement "same" lp is very rare and Clement himself didnt have a copy. (I was in his digs some decade ago.). Dana's first lp ,"Elements" '77 is very rare and put out on an obscure Oakville Ontario label. I have a trade copy if anyone is interested. The music is all-instrumental.Proggy electronic-keys. Ceramic Hello was my friend's band. Again, he himself does not have a personal copy of the lp. And ,again, it does not belong on that Pugachov list, since its more in the line of bizarre new wave. The David Pritchard lp is not electronic either, but very good.Nash The Slash appears on a track. I once met David in a record store in Toronto. I had a copy of "Nocturnal Earthworm Stew" in my hands and was telling the store owner what an interesting and strange lp this is, has he heard it. And he points to the guy next to me and says...... 	From Canada I will also recommend (though on a more progressive edge) the DIONNE / BREGENT albums and "La chambre nuptiale" (1979) by Michel MADORE, though the latest is not pure Berlin school electronics in its entirety. There is also a Canadian hyper rarity and it is the SOULAR SYSTEM album (probably from 1971 but my LP does not display any year of release), sitting between krauty electronics and the french cosmic scene. SYRINX could also be an option for you. From the modern scene MAGNETICRING and VON BINGEN would do the trick for you. Visiting Japan now... Apart for those that you mention there is no one that is close to your tastes in the 70ies. Takehisha KOSUGI's "Catch Wave" may appeal to conrad SCNITZLER fans, but I don't know if it is considered avant for you. The most "krauty" nippon albums from the 80ies are the first two NORD albums but check them with caution as they are venturing into the power electronics scene. The post 80ies japanese scene though has two jewels for you, kraut electronics lover; "The day before: psychochemistry" by Hiroshi HIGASHI.

	Pugachov's list is quite inclusive, it's often including 'borderline' electronic artists...but it's worthy of exploring. I'm somewhat familiar with Japanese prog, but not with Japanese electronica (except for Tomita and Kitaro, and I like both). I'm also ignorant about Canada's electronic music...save for Mort Garson, which is simply awesome.

	Thanks Spyros. Will check out Higashi. "Catch-wave" is great myndfeck :synth,oscillators & violin. But its more avant than anything else. Kosugi made a live '83 improv lp with another avant-gardist, Kamazaki. Soular System is excellent. Didnt know it was Canadian.
