they're more doom than extreme

True.  Although I'm pretty sure Tosin used to use them, and I know Giant Squid and Periphery use Orange gear as well.

I think there were financial issues with the company. VHT is now a different brand (now they're made in china) and the classic models (deliverance etc) are under the brand name Fryette.

AFAIK Periphery use ENGL heads. Their tone is way to tight to be Orange. I'm pretty sure they use Orange cabs though. Is that what you meant?

Yeah that's what I meant, sorry.  Misha has an Orange cab he uses.

Yeah, sucks that they cost more in America.

Splawn are great too, but are more metal than doom... They are like 1950, handmade and have a voltage selector! So I can use it here!

Nah, might work as a decent "crank-up" classic rock amp though, although the Splawn's can do that too.

I can't get excited about guitars. Yeah Strats have a distinct sound, tube amps are awesome, etc. But I'd rather just develop a melody on piano, transcribe it to guitar, and play it. I can't fuss around with technical crap there. Blah blah. Synths, though...

I will agree that synths are damn tasty.  Only analog ones, though!

Did you talk about guitars all night? Glad I was asleep.

Ahem, morning.
