Alright, now the Norwegian band Akasha(Psychedelic/Space Rock). This song is called "Death Hymn" from their only self-titled album from 1977. Only song I've heard by them:

Yeah!! I recently stumbled upon them ... they are very interesting, although their album lacks of a professional production unfortunately. However on my review list ... thanks for reminding me zravkapt

So now a song from Belgian band Machiavel(Eclectic Prog). This song is called "Wisdom" from their 1977 album Jester. The only song I've heard by them as far as I know:

Today a song from American band Deerhoof(Crossover Prog). This is the title track to their 2004 album Milk Man. This was the first song I heard from them when it first came out. I've since heard many songs but not a whole album. Check it out:

Today a song from Swiss band Mainhorse(Symphonic Prog). This is where Patrick Moraz started out. They had one self-titled album in 1971. Another album was released years later. This song is called "God":

Now a song from Italian group Pierrot Lunaire(Prog Folk). They are listed under Prog Folk because of their first album. Their second album, Gudrun from 1976, is more Avant-Prog. This is a song from that album called "Giovane Madre". I've heard one or two other songs from this album, sounds good. Here's the song:

A song now from Finnish group Tasavallan Presidentti(Jazz Rock/Fusion). One of the earliest prog groups from Scandinavia. I don't know how well they are known there, but I think not many people around the world have heard of them. I've only heard a couple of songs from their first album. This song is called "Last Quarters" from the album Lambertland released in 1972.

I like this more than Refugee. Also, it's a funny thing to visualize the enormous breakthrough from this vintage organ sound coming from Moraz's hands to the futuristic synths he provides on Relayer. Quite an evolution.

Today is a song from Italian artist Franco Battiato(Rock Progressivo Italiano). He's well known in Italy, but I don't know how much outside Italy. Even his earliest albums were not widely known even in Italy. This song is called "Una Cellula" from his first album Fetus from 1972:

Love this song but I find their entire albums easily turn into a bit of a gimmick. I only have the Hoyry-Kone Huono Parturi which I find brilliant.

So this is the infamous Indo-Prog/Raga Rock? I only have the Shatki (Shakti?) debut album and know nothing about that scene. This one sounds like kraut though, same psych trance, love it!

I love this group. I can see why some would think this is a one trick horse, but I enjoy their wacky style (there's an old interview here with them done by James where they never heard Klezmer and weren't aiming at that sound). This is a cool song by them.

I know of Akasha but don't have any album by them, but given this song, I should change that.

Like Akasha, I know of them but have yet to try a full album. This is a good track, I like the use of electronics to create this odd vibe and then the introduction of guitars. Again, another band to discover.

Again, a case of a band I've heard a few tracks from but never investigated beyond that. Haven't heard this song, pretty nice tune. I'll investigate further.

Yeah, I love this quirky band and their two albums, and I do prefer this album to the first. This is some weird stuff and I love it!

Good choice of a band and album; I like their melange of jazziness and folkish elements. I have their first 4 albums, all worthwhile getting.

A nice album, but anything essential.
Here's a suggestion from me, the Polish band Osada VIda (who I interviewed for PA and reviewed their albums). I'd have liked to put a different song but this one is good as well, from their 3 Seats behind A Triangle album
