Paris and the suburbs got completely messed up by heavy snow fall yesterday. The city is so not used too deal with snow, it gets pathetic.No salting and the cars are not obliged to have winter tires.Up from 2PM all busses were stopped and later in the afternon all road traffic broke down with about 400 km of stillstand. The Parisian roads were one big pool of halfmelted snow, half of the metro and suburb train traffic was out of order and this night the whole mess got frozen and the roads slippery. It was nice so seeing at one point the city covered in snow especially the gardens are beautiful...

well the gorgoyl looks bored, thats becouse it has seen much worse scenes taking place in Paris then some snowfall.
 
King winters mighty grip has reached Paris with his mighty grip, his grip is tight and his mood is cold, like the winter he brings and sows, Queen summer is on hollyday for the season. So GET USED TO IT Angry. Before you know the man made global warming is next door then one  might  eat hees words while you swim beneeth THE MIGHTY TOWERS OF NOTRE DAME Evil Smile.

At 15:30 when I got out to film Paris under snow (Heart) buses were still going, but soon after that I too saw them retreating. I filmed a lot of splendid snowy places, but I need to find how to edit the bits in order to upload them to YouTube. Hopefully I'll be done by tonight.

From what I read the predictions are that Western, Atlantic countries should get used to snowy winters, so I guess it's time to start investing in the proper tools to keep transport up and running.

Welcome to the club.  

Scotland is currently paralyzed due to snow. No buses, no trains, no mail, no planes and most motorways and other roads has been impassable. We are also suffering from food and fuel shortages. 

It is a ************ mess and disgrace by a political regime who is more interested in creating trouble & independence from England than saving our lives and health. This administration got good enough weather warnings, but did nothing. This week has been a massive cockup and would had disgraced developing countries like Mongolia and North Korea. Let alone Scotland.    

........ but strangely enough, IKEA managed to deliver some flat packed beds to my address an hour ago. I will take out my raging anger on the flat packs then.

:-) Look at link in my signature, Pilsen - Czech Republic is suffering from the worst snow calamity in over 40 years. It's much more calmer now, as snow began to melt a lot, but few days ago, it was terrible mess.


And road caretakers (you know, these men who handles this, salt the road and removes snow as much as possible) say every year that "We simply weren't prepared for this". I mean every year.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

this is La Defense, a business center just outside of Paris where  I worked yesterday, I actually walked all the way up to the arc at the end of the picture during the afternoon and even so it was nice in the beginning there was just too much wind and snow and I didn't had the right clothes....

.......unfortunate, this is my new bed and I have to sleep in it tonight. 

It is strange that IKEA manage to deliver the beds while the postmen have not been able to deliver anything for many days. Hence; privatize and let IKEA take over the mail delivery. Most of the packages, including expensive glass vases and whisky bottles bought online, get flat packed and thrashed in the post any way.

Looks great, a bit similar to Greek "gyros" or Turkish "shawarma". Definitely junk food (just eat one each day for a month in a row and you'll understand), but it looks like something I'd eat once in a while, for the mouth's pleasure. But I never seen tacos in Europe before so no, I'm sure no one's selling tacos there

^ they have a hole taco section in every grossary store in Scandinavia I have been vissited, and it is the most eaten  meal on Fridays and Saturdays (and occationly birhtdays), some even calls it the new national dish in Scandinavia so don't say it issent found in Europe (while somemight discuss that the Nordic countries are Europe)

It has been better down here but not much progress in clearing pathways etc. I think the tactic is wait for the snow to melt!
