Lets get some apprciation for this brilliant band. Prehistoricisms bombastic style with Joe Lesters astounding 5 string fretless lead bass lines blow me away every time. And now I'm giving the new album, Valley of Smoke, a first listen and its great as well. Much more spacey than before, creating a very different feel, but the twing guitars and distinctive bass remaines, and now with the added effect of clean vocals for the first time with them, some songs being completely devoid of growls, which have been set further back into the mix this time anyway. First impressions are that it may b a very strong contender for a top 5 album of the year slot.

Not a prementioned fan. Gotta say the samples I heard for Prehistoricisms were rather lackluster to my ears. However, I heard a couple of tracks from Valley Of Smoke which were quite nice. I'll probably procure that at some point.

^It definitely seems that Valley of Smoke has slipped in under the radar. The title track inparticular is amazing, its how the Double Trio concept should be done (far more convincing than KC's THRAK).

There isn't even one review yet, while there are tons for that Censored Moon Safari. No wonder I missed it.

They're one of my favorite up-and-coming bands.  They have such an original formula for their music.  Valley of Smoke is probably my #2 album for this year.

I should do a review soon.

Valley of Smoke is by far the best metal album I've heard so far this year. I really like the fact the did something different from the last album, which was a 5 star masterpiece. This one is a lot more Post-metal and reminds me a bit of Isis, which I love.

^ Absolutely!

If I didn't put the album on myself I would have sworn it was an Isis album. More drum heavy and slightly faster than Isis...but so damn isisy. Aside from the title track, which is fairly excellent in its own right. Now if they made an entire album like that they might have something.

Not meant as an insult against the album. Its pretty good. Won't make my top 10 though.
