Years ago , I saw an excellent animated version of Zappa's "Night School" (Jazz From Hell), possibly done by Bruce Bickford. Does anyone know what, if any , video compilation this appears on? Thanks................Also, is there a commercial video available of Mike Oldfield performing "Tubular Bells" on British TV from the '70s with Fred Frith, Steve Hillage, Mick Taylor, etc...???????????

I saw that Tubular Bells concert a while back on BBC4. So I have it on my hard drive.

You searched ebay or Amazon?

I think the Night School video was on the "Video From Hell" VHS tape.
Cool collection, it came with 2-D glasses!
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Hi,

You really should get the "Exposed" DVD ... and Pierre Moerlin is the start in it as far as I am concerned. Not to say that Mike, Pekka, Maddy ... and many others don't deserve the credit ... but Pierre is dah man! in there and then some.

I have a couple of those old Zappa videos but have to double check what they are and see if I can get them converted. I haven't seen them in 15 years probably.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Thats is a great DVD although Moerlin actually plays better on the double CD which I'm fairly sure is a different gig (or perhaps several spliced together??). (The DVD is from Wembley Arena)

Thanks for your suggestions. "Video From Hell", "Elements", and "Exposed" are my next purchases.

Yes, I seem to remember it was on "Video From Hell" but weren't those No-D glasses?

Yes, they were "NO-D" glasses  (yes, we have no bananas).  Frank and company must have been giving us fans a throw-back to the We're Only ....." days providing the teenage fun badges, and the like.  I still wish a DVD of The Amazing Mr. Bickford would be made available.  It's a wonderful study of Bruces' animation and F.Z.s' orchestral collaboration.
