You should download all update patches before launcinh it. They fixed a massive ammount of bugs & updated the game to a point where you no longer needs to use the CD to play. Smile

Ask you guys, if you can recommend me something on PC, about 8-12 years old (not for 8-12 years old :-D ).

Diablo 2, Diablo 1, Warcraft 2, Doom 1 & 2. I didn't played a lot of games during that period of time, unfortunately.

An awesome (not so) recent game, if you can put your hands on it, is Need For Speed Underground 2. By far the best game of the NFS series IMO.

Thanks for quick reply Caio. However, I've already played all these games. They're classics, it's hard to miss them. And unfortunately, I'm PC gamer only, always been, probably always will be. I'll however try some of things mentioned on consoles from this thread.

What about Beyond Good & Evil, someone familiar with ? Or something like space-trading simulator (Freespace, Homeworld, these). Or anything else ?

My computer limitations are bad. I was able to play Tomb Raider - Legend, but I don't have high hopes that it was anything else than just twist of fortune. I have integrated graphic card, 1.5 one core processor and 2GB RAM (but cut down by 1GB of applications running, which I can't shut down, not even for gaming).

It can be new game, but it simply can't be hardware demanding. Oh, how I would like to play Fallout 3 (1&2 were perfect).

Have you tried Black and White 2?

EDIT: i don't think there are many PC games nowadays that are NOT hardwere demanding. Even the simulation games can be pretty hardcore, like Sim City or Civilization.

I can't understand the love for Obsidian. What have they done that's good?KOTOR II and Neverwinter Nights 2 were mediocre sequels of really good games and Alpha Protocol was just bad.Plus by all reports New Vegas is LOADED with glitches,so that doesn't say much for the developer.

I really like Neverwinter Nights 2, Jody. Wink

I've not played Alpha Protocol or KotOR II though.

Those Black Isle/Bioware Isometric games are still highly playable.  I wish a small gaming company would use the Infinity Engine to make more games like those.

Marty, have you played the original Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout: Tactics?  They should all work on your machine.

Another recommendation:

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

Jody, James, guys. It's not easy for me to admit it, but I think that Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, all these games, especially first one, are too difficult for me. I've tried Baldur and I would really want to play it, as story is very interesting there, I like isometric games and RPG's, but it's hard.

Arcanum is also difficult, but that's the point, isn't it ? Rewarding experience for those who are able to play them. Well, I managed to finish both Fallouts (not Tactics, not yet), so I'll try it. I certainly want. And when I want something that is possible for me to achieve, I'll achieve it :-)

Caio - I'll start with first epizode, good suggestion as well.

I can only play new FREEWARE / INDIE games. Like World of Goo, Machinarium, this kind of new games with low resource demands. Because I don't need perfect graphic, I need gameplay & DECENT graphic. I'm not used to play 80s games, or even text games (Zork), but give me decent graphic and I can play it.

It is some game of the Crash Badicoot franchise. Don't know which, though.

That is one franchise I hate. It took all the good characteristics of famous nintendo games I played at the time and for that I can't play the game(s) without raging a lot.

MM, Baldur's Gate and those games aren't especially difficult to play.  Baldur's Gate is hard at the beginning, as you're level 1 but Icewind Dale isn't too difficult if you have the right players.  Persevere with it.

Also try Planescape: Torment.  You don't need to do much fighting in order to beat the game, so it may appeal to you more.  Not sure.

I'm pretty sure it's Crash Kart or something like that... I used to really like the Crash Bandicoot stuff when I was younger. I'd like to try replaying some of those games at some point. Smile

Exactly, that's one reason I won't buy Fable.  They abandoned the PC for Console exclusivity.  I'm not a Console player.
