Well, I wouldn't recommend the Droid if all you need is an mp3 player Tongue  in that case, old 5.5 iPod video with Rockbox.

I looked at the Droid when I was due for a new phone, but I don't really feel the need to carry around a mini-computer in my pocket (plus I'm cheap when it comes to such technology LOL) so I opted for something less instead.

I hear ya.

I've had a Zune and an iPod.

The Zune disappointed me because it would freeze up all the time, luckily, i got the warranty.'
I went to trade it 3 times! Then I decided I was tired of a Zune and I wanted just a regular MP3 player, I actually wanted something like a Creative, but I ended up getting an ipod touch because Best Buy is retarded and they didn't have any other mp3 players the 3 times I went.

It's frozen up a few times but still works. Only 16gbs though... and i hate itunes.
Maybe i'll sell it and get something else...

This thread was some of the funniest s**t I've read in a long time LOLLOLLOL

Back to the question though, I prefer Creative, BIG TIME.

I have a Creative Zen X-Fi, 32 GB and it is marvelous! I've had it for almost a year and I'm still loving it.

Prior to that, I had another Creative, a Zen MicroPhoto 8GB and it lasted 3 years. Still works though but the battery life is pretty crappy Cry

I will probably never buy an iPod, too overrated. Zune, however, may get a chance from me.

Creative Forever!

The tool installed on your computer does check your music folders frequently and re-indexes them. The actual files are only transferred (on-the-fly) when you listen to the music, so new music appears almost instantly on the remote clients.

In short, it's about a tool that you install on your computer and an app that you install on your iphone or android phone, and it enables you to listen to your entire collection from anywhere - as long as your computer is running that software. Of course this only makes sense when you have a flatrate plan with a few GB/month traffic included, but if you do this is a very convenient way to have every track of your collection readily available on your mobile player without ever having to do any syncing or transferring.
Nice...the way to go, but surely it will sync by default every time you add to your collection?

Chris you can downoad the software now for free and begin to get a feel for how it might handle your music collection.
You can also sign up for a 2 week free trial account on the Zune Pass music subscription service. After that it is USD14.99 per month. Chris I am not sure if you are in the US....if not the software is available in I think 20 different countries.
You can buy music and buy/rent movies...view listen on your PC, Xbox and also buy/rent using an Xbox Live account.

Here is the recent press release from Microsoft due to the release of Windows Phone 7, which integrates Zune (http://www.microsoft.com/Presspass/press/2010/sep10/09-20ZuneIntlPR.mspx) Gives a decent overview.....but again go to (www.zune.net) to get the software and learn more.

Regards
Will check it out thanks, have always favored Microsoft, although my  60Gb Toshiba Gigabeat just keeps on going and is so retro looking now ( 5 years old) and it's full.

Did you even try stomping on it?  Not likely to make it work better, but it could have been more satisfying. Tongue

Ipod touch. Its my most valued item our of everything I own. I've had trouble with Ipods though, had one of those ancient 20gb ones that lasted about two months. And when I first bought a touch, the first didn't work at all. But I have an 8gb nano thats lasted over three years and still goes strong. And my current touch has had no problems in the 2 years I've had it. Only thing I don't like is its only 16gb so I have to set up custom playlists all the time to choose which music is on it. Not fun when I use it all day everyday
