Houston, TX based progressive-instrumentalists Scale The Summit have entered Audio Hammer in Orlando, FL with producer Mark Lewis (All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder) to record their next Prosthetic Records release.
Guitarist Chris Letchford comments: "We have been home writing for quite some time now and I'm excited to say that we just made it to Orlando this morning to start work on our next record with with Mark Lewis. I have been a fan of the production work that he has been doing for many years now. I love the ‘hugeness' of the recordings he does and I felt that is what was missing from our last record. We're all really excited to be working with Mark on this one. We have been working out a lot of new dynamic ideas for this new record and I know he is the guy to really help us capture all of it. We'll be doing 12 songs this time, all of which are really a step up from our latest album. I can't wait to get these songs finished and released for everyone to hear." |

Images of Eden has signed deals with SavvyMuzik and Nightmare Records to handle a dual release of “Rebuilding the Ruins”. We have teamed up with Hellmut Wolf of SavvyMuzik (from Australia), who will be handling the worldwide digital release (except for USA & Canada) as well as Lance king from Nightmare Records (USA Prog/Power label) who will be handling the worldwide physical release as well as the digital for USA & Canada through Sony (RED).
Why 2 labels? Well, Images of Eden has a long standing relationship with Lance King of Nightmare but SavvyMuzik presented an offer that could not be refused. The terms and conditions of both labels worked out perfectly in that they will not overlap. We feel extremely fortunate to have with 2 amazing label contacts in our corner, both with MANY years experience in the business.
Official press release from Hellmut Wolf of SavvyMuzik:
“SavvyMuzik have just signed a distribution agreement with US Progressive Metal act “Images of Eden” and this has set to push the act to new and greater heights. Images of Eden are by no means a new act, with 100+ years of collective music experience between them, 3 full length albums, countless live shows, multiple record deals and much more. They have gained notoriety throughout North America, Europe, South America and Asia and are now taking their journey to a new level signing with SavvyMuzik.
Images of Eden are, to some degree, a concept group. Their releases create a cohesive story that picks up with every new CD where the last one left off. This being said, each album and indeed song stands strong on its own. This cohesion helps to attract their large following of supporters and feeds their hunger for each release as it comes.
Images of Eden are about to release the first single, “Tribal Scars”, off their third full-length release, “Rebuilding The Ruins”, a 73 minute concept CD, produced by Chris Lucci and mastered by Grammy-nominated producer, Eric Zimmerman (Fates Warning, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Buck Cherry, Suicidal Tendencies, etc.). Now being backed by SavvyMuzik, their international partners, and Nightmare Records, “Rebuilding The Ruins”, is set to be released to the world in early 2011 and is sure to cause a ruckus on the international heavy music scene and to push boundaries of fellow concept artists Coheed & Cambria & Stratovarious. The single, “Tribal Scars”, will be backed by extensive radio promotions, a video clip along with the digital release via SavvyMuzik’s international distribution network. The full length album will be released by SavvyMuzik for Australia and New Zealand as physical CD as well as worldwide digital release.
SavvyMuzik is a label operating within the space of new media distribution for artists and smaller labels which do not have the reach SavvyMuzik has nationally and internationally. We focus not so much on genre but on quality of the products we distribute and license via our worldwide distribution and licensing network. SavvyMuzik is engaged in the development and promotion of artists that have the musical ability and desire to have their music heard by an international audience.”
-Gordon In preparation for the Feb, 2011 release of “Rebuilding the Ruins”, we have released our first single, “Tribal Scars”. The 3-song single is now digitally available worldwide through SavvyMuzik. It contains both CD and radio versions of “Tribal Scars” as well as an unreleased track called, “When Heaven Sleeps”. Hollowmind
After a few months of rest (which have been great for regaining some energy), Hollowmind is back - and with good news!
The pre-production phase of our upcoming album has just started. With no title defined yet, the CD will have ten songs, and the writing process is quite advanced. We already have the basic structure of all songs, with lyrics also ready in most cases. During the next few months, we will finish all necessary arrangements. And, of course, rehearse a lot! We plan to enter studio early next year and hope to finish the album by mid 2011. We're really excited about it all! The new songs seem to bear our 'identity' but, at the same time, they bring new sounds and ideas, which is really good. In addition to that, some other awesome news: our drummer Felipe Gomes will take charge of arranging, playing and recording the instrument in the album, from the other side of the globe... (God bless technology!) In other words, Felipe is rejoining the band! Let's all welcome him back and hope our schedules will meet also for the new tour after the album comes out. The news aren't stopping here... Keep an eye in the band's channels (official website, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter) for more info from now on; we're going to publish updates here and there about the whole thing. Cheers, Roberto |

Odin's Court
Human Life in Motion Update: Odin's Court is getting closer to finishing production of their new album Human Life in Motion at D2C Studios. There are 11 songs planned for the release, and 7 of the 11 are recorded and mixed. The remaining 4 each have 1 element left to record and then they can be mixed. The band is shooting to complete all recording by December 2010 and have final mixes done in early 2011. The album will be sent out for professional mastering and should hopefully be out by the early spring on the label ProgRock Records.
Odin's Court is also filming professional, widescreen, full high definition videos with Change of Scene. All band filming has been completed and the final filming for all non-band scenes should be completed by the end of this year. The current plan is to include a bonus DVD with the new release that includes these videos. Raw, low resolution screenshots from the band session can be seen to the right. |

Seventh Wonder - The Great EscapeCatalog Number: LMC295 Release Dates: 03.12.2010 6419922002957 One of the most anticipated releases in the progressive metal genre is released on December 3rd 2010. Having built a reputation as one of the most exciting, skilled and enthralling metal acts currently on the scene as well as making a name for themselves with potent live performances Sweden Rock Festival and two shows at the prestigious ProgPower USA, Swedish progressive metal masters Seventh Wonder have raised the bar even further with “The Great Escape”. This spectacular new album is a continuation of where the band left us last with 2008’s “Mercy Falls”. The band’s trademark first class melodies and great choruses are still in focus along with astonishing lead work from all musicians throughout the CD. Yet there is for the first time in Seventh Wonder history a really epic track on the album with the adventurous title track that clocks in at 30 minutes. The story of this track is based on the epic space saga Aniara, written in 1956 by Swedish Nobel Prize winner Harry Martinson. The band even obtained written permission from the author’s daughter who holds the copyright, to use phrases from the original book after hearing a few Seventh Wonder tracks and liked them. The rest of the lyrics on the album sees the bands usual wide variety of topics dealing with everyday life and challenges in our modern society, as well as more fictional stories and historical themes. Some other novel musical excursions also appear on the album, while staying true to the Seventh Wonder formula of writing music. Sonically the new album is somewhat drier than its predecessor “Mercy Falls” and in that sense more reminiscent of the sound on “Waiting In The Wings”, a more guitar driven sound. The sound is still very clear such that all instruments are clearly audible, as we have come to expect from Seventh Wonder releases with the album being a great reflection of the power the band possess in the live arena. Never an act to stand still the band wanted to try something new this time. The new stuff constitutes about half of the albums playing time and is made up of the aforementioned epic title track on one hand and the slow, almost poppy song “Long Way Home” on the other, featuring Jenny Karevik on additional vocals and Andreas Blomqvist playing fretless bass, adding to the different feel of the track. If these two tracks represent the new flavour, then the rest of the songs are exactly what you would expect from Seventh Wonder, only newer and better. In the build up to release the band made their first promotional video for the song “Alley Cat” which scored over 20,000 hits on YouTube within 14 days of upload and at the time of writing has had over 35,000 hits. A clear sign the band are ready to move to the next level in terms of popularity. “The Great Escape” features some new flavours for the Seventh Wonder fans indeed, but always staying true to the formula that have gained them thousands of fans around the globe; -technically advanced progressive metal with hooks and melodies to die for. Appearance Of Nothing
New album “All Gods Are Gone”, featuring Devon Graves (Psychotic Waltz) and Dan Swanö (ex Edge of Sanity/ Nightingale) out January 21st.
“...the album has a considerably more aggressive and more modern attitude. Not only the sound but also the collaboration with vocalist Dan Swanö (ex Edge of Sanity/Nightingale).“ “... This is one seriously good recording, although with a more modern approach this new release should see the band attracting new fans as well as keeping their current fan base more than happy. A truly epic release...” |

This just brought a huge woot! from me
Norwegian metallers COMMUNIC are currently preparing the final writing details for their follow-up to 2008's "PAYMENT OF EXISTENCE". The band is planning to start the recording process early 2011. The band is hoping for a June 2011 release.
Comments Oddleif: "I am really excited about this new material that we have put together for this new album. There is still some work left, but we are getting closer. I think the heaviness of these songs will surprise many of you, and the overall feeling of it, is way darker this time. The songs are shorter, more in your face and may seem straight forward at first, but there are many twists and turns that will just creep under your skin. This album is DEEP! I know that many of you have been waiting for this album for a long time already, but everything has its time, and the time is now. Never before have I left so much of "myself" in our songs - never before has the price been so high - this album will be really special". And today, Nuclear Blast offers a free download of "On Ancient Ground" FREE DOWNLOAD |
