if you know of other operatic, dramatic singers with a voice as strong and cleen as them, dont be shy tell me who they are

but this is for two legends only to shine and to be remembered, therefor i did not include others, two singers.

Both singers are good, but I prefer Freddie Mercury.

I love Queen and Heep...but I think Freddie is a better singer, hands down.  His range and versatility are unequaled.  The man sang with an opera singer and pulled it off convincingly!!!!  There is no other like him.  Byron is also amazing, don't get me wrong, but not up against Fred.

I'll mention Topi Lehtipuu who was in the band Hoyry-Kone which is included in PA under Avant, and performs as an opera singer. He's a very good vocalist.

Freddie easy.  I find Byron's vibrato positively annoying and his style extremely affected.  In many ways, he sounds like the precursor to LaBrie to me, minus the liking for AOR/glam vocals.

Interesting, I once did exact same poll on another forum and everyone voted Freddie.

I love both... Freddie gets my vote for how he managed to sing on what became Made In Heaven despite the fact that he was on his death bed.

For me, it's ફ્રારુક બુલ્સારા easily.

Other operatic voices :

Dennis De Young

Michael Sadler

Russell Mael (the only singer who could compete with Freddie IMHO)

Josh Pincus

Czesław Niemen

Krzysztof Cugowski

No disrespect to Byron, but Freddie Mercury was the best!

lucas, thank you so much for putting up Join by Ice Age!  Easily my absolute favorite modern-ish prog band.

As for the vote, Freddie without a moment's hesitation.  Byron's falsetto wailing can make me wince like nobody's business, whereas Freddie's voice was never irritating.  Not once.
