How can we possibly have gone through this poll twice without Moskito chiming in? |
Hi!
Personally I vote... none! This tournament is like a 3-4 minute pop song, not music. A good tournament is like a Stravinsky or Yes piece of music... hard to decipher at first, but the intelligent will be able to understand it's beauty... you've just got to open your mind! This tournament is a hack... it only goes to please its fans instead of innovating like all great artists do! More like some second or third-rate prog band...
This rematch should not have been done... it's like remaking Battleship Potemkin... destroying an artistic masterpiece and making it into a commercialized pop song. Real pollmakers should follow the rules... to know the rules you have to break the rules... that's what art is! Do you think Remembrandt would've decided to paint bland commercialized paintings for the masses if he didn't know the rules... just like Amon Duul II with Phallus Dei? No... they knew the rules and innovated instead of selling out!
Real artists and prog bands don't care about what others think... just like pollmakers! It's not arrogant if you are doing it for the sake of pleasing the intelligent... not the close-minded public! Beethoven, Stravinsky, Pink Floyd, Klaus Schulze, Shakespeare... these were all innovators who dared to be different! There is a reason why it's called Prog... and this poll should be progressive too!

Well said A rematch was the smartest solution after Genesis "won" and then Yes "won" so after this rematch no one should be complaining because it's gonna be fair.

You know, let's stop worrying about who is better. Music is music, just be glad it's here for us to enjoy! I may personally prefer Genesis, but that's my taste. Yes is an incredible band, too, and just because I like Genesis better does not mean that Yes should win OR Genesis should win. Besides, there's no way of really saying what the best prog band is, anyhow, just the one that the majority of people here prefer!
