I've read this poll and I've understood that it would be too dangerous to write all that in English |
ahahah exactly... he voted for genesis, kill him :)

I don't know very much french, but I believe I can translate what Deleuze wrote well enough: I hope Genesis wins. Yes are very strong, but Genesis has proved that Prog Rock can be as beutiful as classical music... the very last part I don't understand. I hope I got that right.

The very last part means: (almost) Moi je dis que YES sont les vétérans par excellence du Prog et qu'ils méritent de gagner en raison de leurs nombreux chefs d'oeuvre.

Epignosis, in the first thread I was the first one (when Genesis was wining by a couple votes) to suggest both bands were promoted, bering that no other band reached the number of votes this two bands reached..
And still believe that (even when Genesis is wining by 20%)
But please, don't tell me that a lot of Yes fans didn't protested because Yes had lost, I believe you about not liking the way it was closed (even when it was in the determined day), you know me enough to be aware that if I beliieved you bitched without reason, I would had mention your name.
But a lot of people bitched just because it was Yes, and bending the rules is something that pisses me, but what pisses me is that when I insit in the rules being respectes, I'm accused of crying, when lots of Yes fans did the same a few days ago and it was OK.
Now the fans of bands that were declared not winers, can protest because a ruling had been overturned,.
And BTW: As a lawyer I pay attention to everything, if it says Sept. 19 with no mention of hour, the closing can be done at any time of the day, much more in a poll of a forum, I protested official doocuments the same day they expired and won the cases..

Ivan. I've been a progfan since the early 70's, and knew both bands early on. I love them both, and certainly this is a tight race. But, no lives are at stake, and it's all just for FUN. Despite that fact, you are taking this FAR too seriously. Life is not based on following rules to the letter all the time, and that is how creativity happens. Do all our beloved prog bands follow the rules ? If they did then the music would be pretty boring, and no-one would be making very interesting sounds. Based on my almost 40 years listening to prog, my vote goes to Yes. ( Even though they are not great rule breakers, and have created some boring music, they have given us a lot of enjoyable material across many, many years )
Do you live your life to the letter of the law ? If a stop sign says STOP, do you come to a complete stop ? ( no rolling through , or ALMOST stopping. ) If the speed limit says 40Kmh do you dare to do 41, or 42 ? If you love something, does that mean that you must hate everything else ? ( Or is the opposite of love really not hate, but ambivalence instead ? )
Please don't fret about who wins or loses these polls. Nothing important hangs in the balance. Let's all just have fun with them, whether we agree or not.

My next "yes" is for Yes. Though I mean this poll becomes a farce...

Progfan, I haven't posted a word since Sunday and it was as a reply to somebody who mentioned me, why don't you guys let me keep away from this?
It's a paradox that you insist and insist and insist, but you didn't said a word to those who forced a rematch when Yes lost.
Yes it means nothing, but we are having a rematch because some guys put preasure on Undercover Boy to start all over again when Yes lost (Somebody even said he couldn't be trusted), OK let it be, I will say nothing unless somebody mentions me.
And BTW: My life and my career are about following rules, I'm a lawyer, you won't change that, following rules doesn't make us less creative, that's ridiculous.
Neither I hate everything else appart from Genesis, I like Yes as a band but can't stand the voice of Jon Anderson...Is that a sin?
Now let this end, and don't give me lessons of what is fun and how I should act, I'm too old for that.

How can we possibly have gone through this poll twice without Moskito chiming in?

Well the last two runs at this poll have been Genesis vs Yes. I propose that the next one be Yes vs Genesis. Maybe the result will be more conclusive ! ( Or the silliness quotient will be increased considerably ! )
No need for anyone to get Pxxxxed off !
