Oh, no!
Do you have any other systems to keep you entertained until you can replace the PS3?

Not sure if it's actually completely dead but it doesn't sound too good. I can't get my Marillion DVD out either I think it's still under warranty, though.
No other current gen consoles, although I'll probably just play through some PS2 games (probably Kingdom Hearts, which I haven't played in years.) |

Well, I would suggest getting yourself a 360 or a Wii, simply because great games exist n all platforms, and they are pretty damn affordable these days. But hey, not tryin' to tell ya what to do. I just don't like seeing current-gen gamers without any outlet.

It's still under warranty (thank god I went for the extended warranty when I got it!) so if worst comes to worse, it can be replaced. I have been thinking about getting a 360 lately though, pretty much my entire friend group have them. Not a big Wii fan, although I do think they're pretty fun.

Got my disc out and I've been put on hold at Sony's call center. Making some progress at least though The lady said it's likely a hard drive failure but at least that's replaceable.

I've only played GoW 1/Chains Of Olympus (PS3) but they were both pretty goddamn awesome. My friends said no. 3 is amazing too.
Oh and btw, forgot to mention Micah, good to see you're an RHCP fan! Edited by progkidjoel - September 22 2010 at 03:02 |

Well, I thought I had no interest in the Wii until a few months ago, when I realized Nintendo were actually starting to release games aimed at real gamers again. Not to mention I no longer use my Gamecube, and I can revisit all my old games for it this way, as well as the old classics via download. So really, the Wii offers a helluva lot for the price. Two full game catalogues right out of the box, and a bunch of old greats via internet. Anyway, at least we can all agree that the Peppers are awesome.

Yeah, Gamecube was a fantastic (but overlooked) console. I was playing Super Mario Sunshine a week ago, actually. Really loved that game. Also, my PS3 is working again as I mentioned in the shred, although they recommended I get a new HDD, so I'm gonna back up my saves tomorrow then grab another HDD when I have more money/when the current one dies. |

The last few days I've been playing
with the wife on Wii's Virtual Console. I've never had the chance to play through it before so I'm having a lot of fun I also appreciate how VC N64 games are rendered in 640x480 as a default feature of the emulation, it really does a lot to clean up the look. Component cables help. Also looking to spend some intimate time with: a new file in Disgaea DS.

I'm playing Spiderman-Shattered dimensions on PS3. The game has good graphics and it's entertaining but the format gets tiresome quickly (boss appears at beginning of level, follow him while you fights hordes of useless enemies, battle the boss, follow, battle).

^It's working again, but at Sony they said to try not to run it for more than 30 minutes unless I'm keeping it cooler than usual. I'll be getting a new hard drive and backing up my saves tomorrow, so it should be back 100% within a day or two.

Very creepy horror/adventure game from Nintendo and Silicon Knights! First time through, and I'm loving it!
