I'm afraid I don't follow.... Unless you were a member of Yes, that first comment makes no sense.
|
I'm pretty sure the Lady means can someone make her decision for her so she doesn't have to cast such a painful vote.
|
That is what I meant. And it is Genesis for me by the number above.

Oh lordy lordy lordy....this takes me back to my high school days in the 70's. This was the question that was always brought up....Yes or Genesis....many a good conversation ensued!

I chose a different way to justify myself. I made a list of my top 10 Genesis and Yes albums: 1. Close to the edge 2. Foxtrot 3. The Lamb... 4. Selling England... 5. Fragile 6. The Yes Album 7. Nursery Cryme 8. Relayer 9. Magnification 10. Wind and Wuthering Now I gave the first 10 points, the second 9 etc. Then I summed up the values for Genesis and Yes. Result: Genesis: 29 Yes: 26 I am relieved, that I voted correctly Genesis . I already started to doubt it.

Yes you should have...
I do have to say I easily like Yes more than Genesis, though I like both bands a lot.

I love them both, but f I had to choose which band has moved me most over the years, it'd have to be (classic) Genesis.
For my tastes, Yes made 3 truly great albums I can't live without -- but Genesis made 7.

Yes has made the best prog album ever: Close to the Edge, but when I look further than that I have to vote for Genesis.

And yet another toughie. While I truely believe that Genesis's decline after Gabriel left should preclude them from winning, it's still hard to dismiss them. Yes has had it's disappointing era's and albums as well but not to the extent of Genesis post 1974. Still, I think I prefer the overall 'sound' of Genesis.
GENESIS.
