I only have the Gryphon one, so I won't vote, but it is very good.

Hatties for sure.  Kohntarkosz is actually one of my least favorite of Magma's studio albums.

What are your thoughts on Wurdah Itah?

It's a great one, probably in my top 5 Magmas.  I prefer live versions of it, but the studio version is very good as well.

I'm a huge MDK fan. Is there anything in Magma's discography that comes close to that?

Everyone says that the live versions of MDK are better than the studio and even though I haven't heard any I believe them. So you might want to start digging through their catalogue of live releases Thumbs Up

And if you plan to do that, check out Retrospektiw I-II.  It's got a live MDK and it's got Theusz Hamtaahk. Big smile

I actually got two MP3 credits on amazon and I got the Retrospektiw I-II with them (the credits were for two songs...so I got the longest songs I could think of LOL)

That's a good plan then.  Have you listened to it yet?

I've listened to the second disc so far. I like the live version of MDK, the energy is great and the band is flawless! I still prefer the original, though, even if the sound is a bit muddy. I prefer the instrumentation on the original to the heavy synths on the live version, but it's still great!

Van Der Graaf's "Quiet Zone/Pleasure Dome" is my favourite latter-day VDGG album (my favourite early-period LP was "Pawn Hearts"). I love "The Wave" and "Cat's Eye Yellow Fever"... These tracks, as well as the others show how compelling and powerful this band was.
My second choice from this list is Genesis "Live". These songs show great improvement over the original studio versions. I really think they were a superb live band... and this album proves it!!!

Mmm, you'll surely like the first disc as well.  Plus, Paganotti's bass on these is amazing IMO. Tongue
