Knowing a bit of your preferences, I would go for:
Hatfield's debut (this is one big suite, all the tunes flow flawlessly, this is so good)
In Praise of Learning (but that's only if you have already checked 'Legend' and 'Unrest' before)
Then, when it comes to favorites of mine that I'm not sure how much you'd like them:
Script for a Jester's Tear (probably my favorite 80s Prog album, and the best of Neo-Prog)
Focus III (I love this, though the two long tunes are rock jams with long solos, if you can deal with that, get it)
If I I Could Do It All Over Again... (another essential Canterbury album)
The Music That Died Alone (fantastic retro-canterbury with symph leanings, though if it's your first Tangent album, I would recommend you first 'A Place in the Queue')

Hatties for sure. Kohntarkosz is actually one of my least favorite of Magma's studio albums. |
What are your thoughts on Wurdah Itah?
|
It's a great one, probably in my top 5 Magmas. I prefer live versions of it, but the studio version is very good as well.
| Wurdah Itah is a favourite Magma studio album of mine. That and Kobaia are probably my top two.

SFAJT by Marillion, easily. One of the best prog albums ever IMO.

Hatfield & The North, though Focus III comes close.

I can't give a vote. Also it depends on your tastes. For me Magma, Renaissance and Caravan (in random order). I'm not a fan of Marillion's debut or Genesis live. I downloaded the Tangent today, so I can't say anything yet.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Close one between Hammill and Phideaux. Phideaux by just a little bit, you'll love that album I think.

I like it that Jester's Tears seems to win the poll . But it has been said already. The albums are so divergent, it all depends on your personal taste. If, for example, you are a Genesis fan, it is a sin not to know Marillions debut.

This poll is roughly unfair if you´re allowing multiple votes.

I see it now, that is a pity. Probably an option is needed, where you have multiple votes, but you can vote only once for the same choice. I suppose, that is what Zombywoof wanted. As it is now, this poll is useless.

It was suggested earlier than I change the poll to allow for people to make more than one suggestion, so that's why I selected that option. It doesn't really matter, since I've ordered the first 7, and I will probably get the rest anyhow.

I'm a huge MDK fan. Is there anything in Magma's discography that comes close to that?
