That's good to hear. Black Rain surprised me back in 2007 and I'm eager to hear what his new one is like.

G'morning Matt.

Not me Jordan, I haven't heard it.  I can recommend Beardfish's Sleeping in Traffic Pt. 2 though.

Are the Cardiacs a fairly recent edition?  I seem to recall there being some pretty vicious arguments regarding whether to include them or not.  Usually in threads that discussed other controversial bands, if I am not mistaken.  It doesn't sound like something that I would enjoy, although I'll eventually probably give them a try.  The idea of Pronk existing seems to be an oxymoron in my mind.

It is a majorly awesome album.  I rated it with a 9.1 for magnificent on progfreak.  One of my favorite PA discoveries.

I figure there's a chance I might like the Cardiacs given that I've exposed myself to more punk and punk-related music over the past year or so and have found I quite enjoy some of it.

It's only like 3.99 on Amazon MP3s... I have 5.00 in credit.

I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO GET

I kind of have a prejudice against punk.  When I was in high school the punkers were some of the biggest pricks around.  I do like some Ramones, The Clash, Iggy Pop, and Billy Idol.

I don't know if enjoying punk has much to do with the Cardiacs.  I still don't like most punk. LOL

They've been here at least as long as I've been registered on PA.  You might actually enjoy them.  Don't let the punk tag deter you.

I'm not crazy about it yet, but to be fair, I've only heard it a few times.  The latest listen was more enjoyable than the others, so I'm going to give it lots of time to marinate.  Smile

Well from what I've heard, they have some punk influences despite still being fairly avant. And I like music in both genres anyway so it's worth a shot.

Matt Parmenter's voice reminds me of Peter Hammill from VDGG, except that I like Matt's voice and I am not that fond of Peter's.

It is worth a shot, as long as you don't mind downloading them from iTunes (or paying OUTRAGEOUS sums for the CDs right now).

Yeah, Part 1 too, but I like Part 2 more and it's what I'm currently listening to, so I recommended it. LOL

I've heard them compared to Kansas. Dead

Sorry Rob, Ouch
