The only real discussion we've had about pop music recently was about Genesis. |
Because everyone's too busy avoiding that music like the plague.
Pop-era Genesis has good songs.
It's a good thing to appreciate catchy songwriting, you know. It opens up horizons.
|
Well, I'm not arguing with you there, but it seems like you're saying that since we haven't talked about it, we all hate it. |
You're right, that pretty much was the implication.
|
There are like hundreds of other bands we weren't talking about either. That doesn't mean we hate them. |
No, but that's not the point. Anyone can see this thread currently has musical discussion tendencies that hardly ever touch upon popular non-prog artists in a positive light.

That's because we talk about bad non-prog artists
Though I agree with you, yes, we tend to bash lots of non-prog artists, I don't see why it's that big of a deal. This is a prog forum, and most of us prefer it, and I don't think anyone here lives by the dogma that prog is the ONLY good kind of music.

Yes, but it won't be long before you're talking about some obscure Japanese noise jam musicians.

Because that's what interests him most. He doesn't have to only talk about pop or non-obscure bands.

It's just so tiresome to really discuss music after awhile, I think. I burned myself out on that over the past 5 years I've been posting here. That's a long time. New band discussions come and go, they're good then bad...whatever. In the end we're all just talking about stuff that should be listened to. I guess I just find real life more interesting, which is why I tend to talk to people even on the internet about Real Life Things.

Well, the Shred is for talking about anything, really. You can start a new discussion anytime.
