Henry, don't trust a report that says:
Go to my home page instead
Most surely that red screen is a spyware malicious program that is using Microsoft logo, being hat Microsoft has no reports of Prog Archives.

I have just cleansed my PC of a rather nasty little critter that popped up about a week ago (they invariably offer anti-virus software to heal your system blah yakkitty ditto) Funny thing is, when I was infected I was looking at a music technology site on the (gulp) Osmonds, trying to learn what synth they used for the whinny noises on Crazy Horses (A Buchla BTW)
The salutary moral is clear: Fanatical Mormons are spreading their invidious and odious agenda in the form of subliminal messages embedded into teenybop anthems via the internet. Phase two of their campaign will have unsolicited pop-ups extolling the virtues of toothpaste, bathing, barbers, lentil punch and Christian Death Metal (for those who resist) Be afraid, be very afraid.... |

I think the problem isn't PA, but Google Ads, I searched around and there is at least one other forum that seems to have the same problem. |

Over these 14 months I'm here, I saw this about 20 times. Here and there: I just click on NO all the time. |

I just clicked that link MM and it just took me to the guy's forum which seemed devoted to the band Klotet as he mentions. I guess your AV programme is just doing its job and making you aware.

Tony, I'm not sure it's about this specific link. I saw this message let's say dozen of times already and it wasn't just in this topic. Maybe I simply saw Steve-A's posts in all cases, but I'm also sure this has something to do with it. Oh, I get it. I was googling for this Yann Carduner and it gave me PA page result :-) There is all info that explains this problem. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=59304&PID=3300882 Can you tell this fusionfreak to change his homepage ? He has email address there and it seems not AV, but Opera doesn't like it from some reason. |

Did you get this message trying to access the main PA page, or after accessing a particular members details (on MMA) ? This stinks of a 'drive-by' attack. Microsoft 'Smart-Screen' filter should have picked this up way before 'Security Essentials'. My guess is that it's something you've picked up on MMA.
Spy-Bot -Search and Destroy works well. (Freeware). I use this in conjunction with Security Essentials. You can remove ALL spyware from your PC, and immunize IE from further attacks.

1 signature URL is probably coming from a MALWAREed site.
The safest bet for PA would be to remove all the signature IMG ;-(

Wouldn't it be safe if everyone had signatures from sites like Photobucket and the like? And probably also the one from Last.fm which I suppose it doesn't have any virus either.
I'm just suggesting, I'm no expert.

Yes, it would be OK to specify somewhere "Only images hosted on imageshack (or other free hosting site) are allowed for hotlinking in the signature".

That kav4.htm file that triggered Security Essentials is more than likely a fake antivirus, the companies that make these trick genuine web ad hosts into displaying their ads.
