Two masterpieces of avant-garde progressive metal. Which one do you prefer?

Flesh Aquarium by far.  It has so much more energy and experimentation while still having a lot of catchiness and cohesiveness.

I wouldn't call it more experimental, they definitely play faster, but I do not think Of Natural History is lacking energy or any of these categories. Anyway, as much as I enjoy In A Flesh Aquarium, my vote definitely goes to SGM.

Of Natural History.

For whatever reason Unexpect doesn't do it for me.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I don't know the Unexpect album, so I won't vote, but I never miss an opportunity to plug my favorite current band, SGM! I simply cannot get enough of them. I hope they start touring again soon.

As far as avant-metal goes, I also really love Diablo Swing Orchestra, it's an incredible band.

They did a concert a couple days ago up here in the bay area, unfortunately I had to miss it. Ouch

I've seen them five or six times and have never been disappointed. Can't wait til they make it back to Atlanta.

I loved In a Flesh Aquarium when I first got it, but it hasn't held up as well as ... Of Natural History over time. I'm not sure why.
