New Year of no light is boring. New GIAA? Well they havent made anything too quality since All is violent. So I'm not too surprised.
New Altar of plagues though? I'm on it!

new ANATHEMA is amazing
new ALTAR OF PLAGUES is more post-metal, than post-black. I like it, but they were better new YEAR OF NO LIGHT is good - if you'd count it as a new OMEGA MASSIF release. I like it, but they were better [2] new SOUVENIR'S YOUNG AMERICA is beautiful, Southern Desert Post-Rock! new THE OCEAN is very good, different but good, like latest MASTODON new KHOMA is good, though nothing new new KAYO DOT is way too boooring, didn't like it at all new 65DAYSOFSTATIC and GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT are lame, though I haven't listened to them yet...and not planning to check them at all |

Could Bitcrush's Of Embers be in this category?
I think they sound really awesome. PS. I EXTREMELY agree that Anathema's new work is really amazing. Edited by latenighefog - May 09 2010 at 10:05 |

Hey everyone, Are there any good post-rock bands/albums that feature saxophones, flutes, or any other woodwind or brass instruments? I'd like something that goes a bit beyond the guitar/bass/drum/strings. |

Yeah, that was cool! - not exactly what I was expecting (as I'm new to post rock I'm more familiar with GYBE, Mono, etc.). Thanks! |

No problem. Here is a sample of somewhat similar band on PA, Bell Orchestre, another experimental post rock band that have trumpet and french horn, not your usual post rock band at all. I honestly don't know anything about either band, but I really would like to. |

try The Samuel Jackson Five. They incorporate many jazz elements in their sound.
