Both Scott and Jim have mentioned viruses on either MMA or PA.

I'm reporting that just now I opened the homepage on PA and my antivirus software caught what  appears to be a Trojan.

M@X please investigate.

The one that hit me was on Friday around 11am central standard time, USA.  It went right through our Trend-Micro anti-virus and took out the machine.  I don't know the details of what it did as they just gave me a different computer to use.

All I know is it started by putting up a large window warning of disaster, and recommending immediate action with the fake software offered.

I have a Mac too, it was just using my PC at the moment and my anti-virus software caught it.

Actually, I do prefer PCs generally. I just use a Mac right now because I was required to have one at the Berklee school of music and am now in the habit.

I had PA and MMA open in IE8, just reloading it every once in a while to see if I could get the warning, I eventually did.

This is what Microsoft Security Essentials says:

And here is the link that is in the MSE report.

Last friday as soon as I opened ProgArchives, my screen turned to blue and said that a trojan was detected.

Probably it's on the advertising, Google is probably sending cookies and one of them is infected.

So far I haven't gotten anything... but lately I've been using school and library computers so it will be society who will bear the brunt of it!

Question

Spies perhaps, no spy ware.

All clear at the two computers I've been using.

Just beware of the bacteria as there's no anti-bacterial software out there that I know of.

I got this just now, so clearly there's still a problem.
Sorry, I tried to get more information out of Avast but I couldn't manage it.
