It's almost impossible to describe what I see in an album like that. It's like asking "what type of music do you play?"
I always despise that question.

Oh, well I guess I can understand why one would feel that way about TMR. I will admit that it certainly is unique and innovative the way it combines Blues and Avant-jazz, but it's not my thing.

Let's just say that Trout Mask Replica is one of THOSE albums to me. If I had to form what I believed to be the top 10 most important albums of all time in music (let alone prog, much like the PA Top 100), that album would be there. The abstract, genius poetry combined with the genius of the record never fails to move me in every composition every time I hear that album. Totally changed my perspective on music. I could only imagine how groundbreaking it sounded in 1969. I would rather hear that album over any Genesis, Yes, ELP, or nearly every band's seminal album any day. Everything comes together in such an amazing fashion that manages to really make a great impression. I didn't always feel that strongly about this album though. I've always liked it, but it definitely grew on me.

Trout Mask Replica isn't so shocking to my ears any more, but it still provokes little emotion in me. I guess it's because Blues just isn't my thing.

I guess I've never been in the mood for TMR.

SIN It's because you don't like the American Avant movement near as much. It has no connections to RIO whatsoever (again, which is why I want a genre split).

I meant telling my parents about the Army, if that was unclear. I'm not really an athletic person. Or someone who does things without thinking about them first.

And you have a f**kin goal! How am I supposed to do anything? Incidentally, I did actually go to the Army recruiter, but they don't want me until I've been off meds for a year. I didn't think that would pan out but it is still sad that THERE IS NO ESCAPE! At least I didn't tell my parents, I would never hear the end of it. |
I'm actually glad I told my parents finally. Because if I hadn't I would still be at square #1. Henry, I'm sure it will work out. It just takes one day at a time is all.

D'accord...
What is that? |
A test you do at home instead of in class. Finally got it done, it was easy, I just needed time to do it.

You might be right. It might be best to wait until I'm in a better state of mind to do something about this girl. Unfortunately, it looks like it might be coming down to taking medicine now. I was hoping it wouldn't get to that. Although if it would just be me taking it when I needed it instead of on a regular basis, I think I could learn to adjust to that. I'd love to listen to music now, but I haven't found any type of music I have that's made me feel better. Except a Meshuggah song here and there.
