I have recently discovered Steeleye Span's Below the Salt and Commoner;s Crown which I enjoy very much. And many many more! Wink

Nice. Thumbs Up

What do you weidos see in First UtteranceConfused.

No offense intended, m'lady.  Embarrassed

I would have highlighted Sprirogyra too as that's one of my favourite albums -- that and Comus are my traditional acid folk band faves.

As for First Utterance, it mesmerized me.  I like haunting music such as "The Herald" (truly a beautiful piece) and creepy, paganesque music (and I love acid folk). "Drip, Drip" lyrically grosses me out, but.... I find the album has very good contrast and is nicely nuanced (I do like rather dark music and themes commonly)  It would be kind of like asking what makes The Wicker Man (the 1973 version) one of my favourite films.  I'm actually interested in the occult and paganism, so thematically that becomes a plus, but I really like the music as well.

Yes, because surely you wouldn't be talking about the Nick Cage version.  LOL

Logan, and don't forget about Diana and Song To Comus. The Bite's lyrics manage to create such a flabbergasting visual of the imprisoned, tortured christian who is getting close to execution.

Epignosis - opinios... et de gustibus. Wink

A girl who enjoys prog is nice enough, but a girl who enjoys Magma is an altogether different thing.  Kudos to you! Clap

I've heard that saying, except the wording was a little less polite.

I love the whole album -- amazing album (one of the best of the best for me).  "The Bite" really does make me think of that "Wicker Man" Scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEOQqnHMSMc

Incidentally, since I love Magma, you should hear the Retrospektiw 1-2 version of MDK if you haven't.  And this is such a classic.

Oi! LOL

And about the Magma thing with girls: I once sent the link to "Hortz Fur Dëhn Stekëhn West" to one of my colleagues (girl Wink) who enjoyed First Utternace and who was into not so conventional music, and the reply I got was: 'okay... that was freaky!'  Women...Tongue

I think I might have heard it a couple of days ago, Retrospektiw of MDK that is.
And that is exactly how I sing "Mekanïk Kommandöh. The bloke who made the video is a genius!

But that particular case was weird because she thought First Utterance was cool and not scary at all, yet 'Hortz Fur Dëhn Stekëhn West' was 'oh, that's freaking me out, man!' - and not with the hippy meaning!LOL Maybe she was intimidated by the use of Kobaïan.

Nothing against Epig, but when I am looking for Zeuhl recommendations he isn't the first person who comes to mind.
