Hi all!
just thought I'd ask this. I sure would like to use Pandora or Rhapsody or some other service, but I don't use credit cards if I can help it. Does anyone know of a similar site that takes personal checks for their annual fee? I sure hope so!

It's much more cost-effective to hang out with friends who have MASSIVE collections of prog CDs and just copy their stuff!

CDs have better sound quality because they are not compressed, unlike downloaded MP3s.

If you network properly, you'll have all the music you'll ever want/need.  And it's a great party!  Cheers....

^ properly encoded MP3s (high bitrates) are virtually identical to CDs as far as sound quality is concerned. However, most streaming applications (myspace, youtube etc) don't use high bitrates, and samples in download stores are usually 128kbps at most (as are the samples at Progarchives), and I fear that those are what many people base their opinion about MP3 on.

As far as the original topic is concerned: I don't know any download store that you could use without a credit card ... maybe Amazon?

Thank you for the kind replies! I was told I could purchase a Visa gift card and use that. I think that will work! Thanks again!
