Different, I'd say. You could try reading my review or Micky's, to get an idea of what to expect. It's a great album indeed, but there are a couple of 'easier' songs that might put off some people. |

I consider them equals (although if I had to choose one, I think it would be The Crane Wife). The Crane Wife has "The Island" though, which I know you will like, Jeff- symphonic prog in The Decemberists' style. |

Like Raff said, it's different. A bit more alt. rock sounding overall, but still with very strong material specially the 12 minute The Island and the 11 minute The Crane Wife 1 & 2.

The best rock version is the one by Mekong Delta. Too much weirdness and psychedelia in the ELP version.
But no rock version can beat the original version though...
