Was so glad to see the Jets win!
That being said....I am highly doubtful they can beat the Colts. Defense is clearly not the issue, and we know they can grind it out. But Sanchez is gunna need to do alot more, and when he's been asked to throw alot well....... Also, if that guy just hit 2 field goals the Chargers win... |

The Colts threw their game against the Jets in game 15, otherwise the Jets don't even make the playoffs. It'll be so

Sanchez hasn't needed that much so far and the Colts aren't really the team their record would indicate. So long as the Jets don't have a breakdown in the secondary they should be able to shut down the Messiah, oh Holy Lord of Football, Peyton Manning (that is what the media would like for us to call him, right) who looked very human against a weaker Ravens secondary.

I´m more than happy that the two teams that i hate so much (Ravens and Cowboys) have lost.
I hope that the AFC wins over the NFC.

I hope The Chargers go away and never come back!!
I hope The Jets thoroughly harrass Mr. Universe
I would like to see Drew Brees and not Favre in The Final
and basically, I feel like an idiot (That's cuz I am), for rooting for The Chargers

Championship Picks:
AFC:
Jets over Colts - Peyton didn't play all that well last week and has never proven himself a playoff performer, he will be picked by the best secondary in the NFL. The Jets offense will be able to grind down the always suspect Colts D with the run well enough to earn a victory for its defense and send the worst overall team to the SB since Trent Dilfer's Ravens. I'm not of the belief that the Colts are anything special to begin with, mind you, just a solid one dimensional team with the softest schedule possible.
NFC:
Vikings over Saints - This wasn't much more than a coin toss for me. I give the Vikings the slight edge because I trust their running game more entering this matchup and I just get the sense Favre will play one of the best (smartest) games of his life.

Excellent point on both. This Vikings/Saints games has a good chance of being the game of the playoffs. So far, the best game has to be either Greenbay vs Arizona or San Diego vs New York Jets, neither of which were too memorable. Go Vikings, just because Jared Allen is such a redneck. Go Jets for love of the underdog. |

Not to mention that in the regular season, they won by an average of a field goal while on that 14-game win streak. Luckiest team in the history of pro football, and that luck will eventually run out. |

By CHIP SCOGGINS and JUDD ZULGAD, Star Tribune staff writers Last update: January 22, 2010 - 11:49 PM The Vikings injury situation suddenly looks serious. Percy Harvin, the NFL's offensive rookie of the year, missed a second consecutive day of practice Friday because of migraines and is one of five Vikings listed as questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game. The others with that designation are All-Pro defensive tackle Kevin Williams (knee), defensive end Ray Edwards (knee), nose tackle Pat Williams (elbow/foot) and cornerback Benny Sapp (ankle/back). |

I heard that Kevin Williams and Ray Edwards will play. That will certainly be a HUGE help.

By this time of the season, everyone is injured to some degree. Football is such a brutal sport.

It seems our resident NFL-expert has failed... Mmm... Maybe the Colts are a decent team after all? I mean, I know there's no way you can be wrong, but statistics, you know... those damn numbers that they use... Oh, no, they're lying. And that Manning... yes, so overrated. When he won the Superbowl he didn't really prove anything, he just was lucky....All his numbers are made up...

Was pulling for the Jets but hey....we all know that they were clearly the lesser team.
At least they put up one hell of a fight, all you can ask for. Rooting for the Saints tonight, but whoever wins...as long as they beat the Colts I'll be fine with it. |

Guess one player and the easiest schedule in football can get you to the Super Bowl, shame. I'm not going to praise the Colts for beating two teams that shouldn't have been in the playoffs, even if I picked one of them (while saying they'd be the worst to ever go to the SB). Manning was absent for the first 10 quarters of the playoffs in their Super Bowl winning year, which was the one time I could call them a complete team. Besideds, any AFC team could have beat Chicago in the Super Bowl, Rex Grossman was their starter (Rex Grossman started in a Super Bowl!). Peyton was impressive today at home, on his carpet, behind an offensivel ine that is brilliant every play without ever holding, somehow. The real shame of having Peyton in the Super Bowl is it'll be one more week of that unbearable lining up with 30 seconds on the clock and snapping it with 5 left, SNAP THE F'N BALL YOU F'N CLOWN. Two dome teams in the Super Bowl, what a disgrace for the NFL.
I will admit, I let my anti-Colts feelings affect my pick and they were the better team, they should have been after all. Still think the AFC was the inferior conference for the first time in a loooong time this year and will be hoping that shines through in the big game.
Peyton is no god, he is a top 5 QB playing behind what is consistently the best (by a large margin) offensive line in football, year in and year out. He has a great arm and is very accurate but you cannot discount that he has lived a very charmed existence in the NFL, especially in his monster stat years.
