was offline for 3 days (router being somewhat awkward) and had over 435 emails relating to the atheist thread (as if listening to some of the arguments wasn't enough to make me think I shouldn't have entered)

all the other forums only send the one, and no more until you've visited the site again. any way to change it, cant see any options in the control panel

Member Control Panel > Forum Preferences (http://www.progarchives.com/forum/register.asp?FPN=3) > tick 'no' box on Notify me on repliest to posts, then hit the update button at the bottom of the page

That should work

and interestingly enough no messages to say I'd had any replies today despite not changing preference

You can subscribe to threads individually. Just click the 'Email Notify me of Replies' button at the bottom before you post.

Joel, I think you're not understanding. He wants to subscribe to the thread, he just wants to receive one email that some has posted in the thread, not an email every time somebody posts.

I don't think it's a big deal because I think you are the only person who subscribes to threads, but sure, it should be fixed. I'd rather we fixed the stupid moved marker, though.
if you own a sodastream i hate you
