Hmm, Wesley's Shiver sounds inspired by PT. A lot.

Yeah, it definitely is. After he started playing with them he got a lot more electric guitar based.

I listened to Kansas's Masque in the car.  Big smile

What a horribly underrated album.

There are a few PTish heavier parts as well, definately sounds like SW produced this or was at least helping him out.

Well that figures, he was touring with the band in 2005 after all.

Mhmm.

So are you able to make it to any of the PT gigs over here next year?

Probably not, I just don't have the money at the moment. Having said that I think that they will come here eventually as the NZ fan base grows with each new album. I know a few people now who have heard of FoaBP and The Incident. Too bad nobody knows their real gems of albums.

Anyway, aren't they releasing Live in Tilburg next year?

Yup, that's gonna be awesome. Especially because it has Dark Matter on it.

Oh, also, this:

Porcupine Tree will play 2 special shows to close the Incident tour cycle, one in the UK and one in the US. The UK show is now confirmed to take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 14th October 2010. These shows will be evening-with concerts with PT playing an extended set - although we can't tell you exactly what the evening will hold at this moment, the band are planning some very special things that will make these 2 shows unique experiences for everyone.

Tickets for the Royal Albert Hall show will be on sale from 29th December, but please note that the bands are also putting together a special VIP package for Residents of a Blank Planet members - more news on this soon, as well as confirmation of date and location of the US show.

I'm guessing they're playing UTD or TSMS or Signify in its entirety.

Same, that'd be epic. I think I'd rather see UTD in a live setting though.

Oh and Henry, Pnoom told me to get The Circle Maker by Zorn, so I ordered it from Tzadik records.

Hm, I wouldn't have guessed Circle Maker would be the closest match based on the description, but I haven't heard the damn thing, so I guess I shouldn't be judging! :P

Stonie Taipuva is actually quite good.
