Could you explain it to me please?  What do you mean?  Tongue

Tough one.  Enjoy all of their vocals to one degree or another.  It also seems that some songs were perfectly suited to one or two of their voices.  For example, I couldn't picture Waters singing Echoes, or Wright singing One of My Turns.  Gilmour probably had the most flexible voice, he could go from the mellow to the heavy, so for sheer versatility I'd have to go with him.  Waters could do some softer stuff, but not as well as Gilmour.  Of course Mason did put in some amazing work with Corporal Clegg and Scream Thy Last Scream.  But...Gilmour.

I have to say too that overall, I think that Waters, Gilmour and Wright worked well together vocally, as well as compositionally, and the whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts IMO.

Nick didn't really sing on One of These Days, but it is his voice you hear.

Nick did however sing with Gilmour on Corporal Clegg.  It's Nick's voice which sings "He won it in the war in 1944" and the rest of the response lines.  He also sang the rare "Scream Thy Last Scream" in its entirety.

Wright for me. He could sing with such a great feeling, it seems so shy just like him. Listen to Stay on Obscured By Clouds you'll get what I mean.Without him, Echoes wouldn't sound like that. Such a great man he was..

I'm between Gilmour and Waters, and it's very difficult to choose for me. I think Gilmour was a better singer, but Waters feeling and voice is utterly unmistakable. I guess I'll have to postpone my vote. However, I must say that the best singer from Pink Floyd is just the one who's singing it a particular song: really, their voices work better on the parts each one's got to sing. Imagine if Waters and Gilmour's singing parts were reversed on Comfortably Numb; it would have been a dissaster.

I like Madamoiselle Nobs a lot actually, a nice fun song, not to mention a cute doggy.

Yeah, it's a fun little tune, and dear I say, ever so prog. I mean, it is a dog on vocals, all it needed was a cape and an extended keyboard solo with extensive meter changes.

I love Waters for the drama, Gilmour for the smoothness, and Wright for the voice.

I really couldn't choose, but boy do I love hearing the late Rick Wright open his mouth on the occasions he got to.

I like them all, but I find it a hard choice between Gilmour and Waters: David Gilmour has the best voice of them all and even in his sixties he is a good singer. Roger Waters can lay a unique venom in his singing, which fits well in some of his songs. I vote for David Gilmour, especially because Roger Waters has lost the major part of his voice and his singing comes close to whispering on his later albums.

Very tough one between Waters and Gilmour.
Waters in the end gets my vote for his emotional vocals on albums like The Final Cut and The Wall.

Nick Mason? I think I haven't even heard him talk. I enjoy all their voices, but David Gilmour is definitely the best singer so I voted for him. I used to find Roger Water's voice annoying, but now I love it. Rick Wright might be my least favourite, I like his voice for backup vocals but it's too soft for me when he sings lead.

In the end the love you take is equal to the love you made...

Gilmour still has a lovely voice - angelic, even......while Waters' voice is far from lover-ly, it's much more emotive - and that's his strength.  The messages that guy puts across demands eerie whispers and pointed shouts (and an array of signature sound effects).  Animals is my favorite Floyd album - Gilmour never got more out of his guitar and the lyrics just need those snide Waters vocals.  But Animals is it for me.....Roger's voice took over the Wall and it's the reason I rarely put it on.  I love the "story" behind the Final Cut, but Roger's voice was almost too much.....grating at times.  Killed the feel of the final two records.

But remember Waters' voice on "If" and "Cymbaline"....then listen to Amused to Death.  But listen to Gilmour on "Lucky Old Sun" or "Wot's...Uh the Deal"....then listen to On an Island.  Gilmour still has it.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Oh, man, listen to Roger sing, "You radiate cold shards of broken glass".....maybe I voted too soon.  Man, that album may be the scariest - chock full of naked reality - rock record ever written.  Good topic for a poll, that.
