I think I like Critters Buggin.  They're a very fun band.  Thumbs Up

It's snowy outside--I strangely want to listen to some Schulze. I've laready listened to Kontinuum, now maybe Mirage.

What's this National (Natural?) Building '09 album you talk about in big words?

Neutral Milk Hotel?

No, they're '99.

It's Shadow Kingdom by Natural Snow Buildings.

Drone/ambient/folk/hipster ambient

Not sure if you'd like it, but definitely check it out.

Thanks to Last.fm, I'm now getting into stranger music that I used to be resistant to.  "Mary, Mary, So Contrary" by Can is amazing and decades before its time.

It's good, but I like the Damo-era Can material the most.

Thanks to the internet, I've been finding more and more interesting modern classical composers which I should have known about for a long time now.

I've heard Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, and Future Days. All awesome.

For me, I'm listening to First Utterance, I love Comus.

First Utterance is incredibly awesome.

I really hope the rumors about album #3 from them turn out to be true.

What makes Damo Suzuki more special?

His vocals. Although I can hardly understand a word he says, his vocals are very unique and fit the music well.

Damo Suzuki is one of the weirdest human beings I've ever heard of, but his voice just gels so perfectly with Can's music. And to give an example of his diversity, when the band would perform Halleluhwah live, he would sing the first verse in English, the second in Japanese, then perform the rest of the song in scat lyrics, usually by letting his long hair cover his face, standing still in front of the microphone, and shouting some of the weirdest sh*t I've ever heard.

I'll try to find the Youtube video on it. It's pretty epic.

In the song "Oh Yeah", the first verse is recorded backwards, the second verse in English, and the last one is Japanese.

Wootton mentions the need for new material for Comus pushing back his classical works on the band's website, so it's definitely got some substance behind it.

http://www.comusmusic.co.uk/roger.html

He talks about it near the bottom of the page there.

I forgot about "Oh Yeah" being different lyrically too.

Apparently, the video I'm looking for isn't on Youtube anymore. But all this talk is making me want to listen to Can.

Sounds like it's almost surely going to happen then. Big smile
