Bands That Can Do No Wrong

The only band I can think of is The Beatles, I love every piece of music they made. Other than them, I don't know, I love Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, and a lot of bands that I like most of their album, or all of them, but there's always some of their stuff that I consider a bit weak compared to some of their best. The thing about The Beatles is that every album they released was better or at least as good as the last one, they would have never disappointed me if I would have been around back then. I'm not a big fan of albums like Please Please Me or With The Beatles, but considering the context they were great albums. Most other bands released the weaker albums later in their career. It probably has to do with the fact that they broke up at the right time, but I believe they would have keep making great albums for a few more years at least.

I guess this is a topic where personal taste and preference have top priority.

Just like you, Jethro Tull is my favorite band, and I love all their music. I would also include King Crimson, Steve Hackett and Camel of the old bands that are still somehow active. Gentle Giant, The Gabriel-era Genesis and Goblin of the bands that don't play anymore, and Mike Keneally and James Sudakov of the most recent prog acts.

Unfortunately, Tull did have some clunkers. Nearly every band does eventually. But they did give us Passion Play and Thick As a Brick. My pick for infallible is King Crimson before the '80s.

Well, I might say that Tool is really a band that could make harm, especially to my ears, at least the Undertow album did it to my ears is annoying and has an awfull sound... at least, Tool without that album maybe won't harm anyone...

For the longest time I thought Porcupine Tree was a band that could do no wrong,but I found myself disappointed with The Incident when that came out. Before then the only album I felt really had any major weakpoints was On the Sunday of Life, which technically doesn't even count. I think they've maintained a pretty good track record as far as quality consistency goes. I guess The Incident just isn't my cup of tea

Most of my favorite artists have had low points throughout their career, so it's hard to say really. Riverside's a definite candidate, but they also haven't had a particularly long career compared to many of my other favorites.

When it comes down to it I'd probably have an easier time naming certain people that could do no wrong than I would coming up with bands that could do no wrong.
