Sounds great Rob - Keep me updated
Henry, the Magma boxset looks great, although I haven't been able to find any new copies. I would consider buying if it came with ALOT of new/unreleased Magma material, but since I already have 95% of the material, I don't see the point in re-buying it for the digipaks/photos/liner notes. I don't get why bands bundle all of their material into one box set - If they're fairly obscure, like Magma, chances are a new fan won't buy it, and an old fan will already have a majority of, if not, all the material included. |

That's where Youtube and PA's streaming mp3s are involved...I didn't have any Magma recordings when I bought the set, but based upon the strength of everything I heard between the two I knew it was for me. |

Updated? I plan on finishing it this week or next, just to see if I can. |

Henry, can you recommend me a good Kayo Dot album? I think I remember seeing you talk about them in here or some other threads.

Yeah, I used to be a huge Kayo Dot fan, and I probably still am, but I haven't gotten around to listening to them in forever. Blue Lambency Downward is streaming on their website and there are also extended clips from the first two on their website, so you can probably figure it out. :P They get more avant-garde and jazzy as time goes on.

I saw Kayo Dot live with Secret Chiefs 3 earlier in the year.
Pretty impressive. |

I have Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue from Kayo Dot. I could only listen to it once though as it was sooooooooooooooooo boring. People recommended to me to listen to Choir of the Eye as it is supposedly 10 times better, but I've not got around to doing that yet.

I bought the one you have a long time ago. I've only heard it once. |

Dowsing can be a bit boring, but I like it despite its minimalism.
I am listening to LTIA on Youtube (shhhhhhh), and I was struck by how good LTIA pt. 1 was, and by how boring Book of Saturday and Exiles are. Has anybody else noticed that AMG has been pulling reviews from their site? LTIA and Vroom Vroom don't have a review anymore, and neither do some Miles Davis albums I was looking at earlier.

Same. I hate Dowsing. Blue Lambency was really good though. From what I've heard I prefer maudlin of the Well. |

I haven't even listened to Maudlin. Someday...
I really need to get Vroom Vroom, this Thrak material is excellent.

motW are amazing, they're my main reason for wanting to get some Kayo Dot. As I'm sure you've heard, their latest album is available for free on their website downloads page, and the band previously said they don't mind if people illegally download their other albums, because they're near impossible to find hard copies of. |

I really need to get Vehicle, I'm really liking everything I've heard from miRthkon so far and I'm essentially obsessed with Banana.

That is a pretty common sense approach, Part The Second is a good album, not really my thing, but I'd be interested to look further into motW and Kayo Dot, even though hard copies are pretty much non-existent where I live, and importing them would be super expensive. |

Pat is going to do lead vocals on my next project.
Also, my main purpose for doing an EP so quickly is to have a reason to change my fricken signature. Edited by Epignosis - November 24 2009 at 15:43 |
