I'm well known for my "shocked and disturbed" type comments.

I think I've been watching too much of The Office, because when I was listening to that all I could think of was Michael Scott dancing.

the office was not my inspiration

then again the thing that was my inspiration basically didn't inform the song at all in the end

Somethink about that man's incorigible character gave me serious chills. I mean I know it should incompetence lol, but a part of me was marked the wrong way by how he behaved, and only during the short first season.

The problem with the American Office is that the first couple seasons were far too much like the British one, which is just painful to watch. After that he transforms into more of a tragic character whom I genuinely like because he tries so hard to be likeable and competent, he just doesn't understand how anything in the world works.

I picked up the reference that it's the samey at first, but I actually haven't done the right thing and watch the original Office.

So from where do you suggest I watch US Office to pick up the change you describe?

Season 3, if the season premiere interactions with Oscar don't sell you on Michael being a person with fundamentally good intentions that are just extremely misguided, then I don't know what will. All the episodes are streaming on Netflix if you're into that sort of thing.
