I red a post here some hours ago... and now there is no more... I don't think i'm crazy, I think somebody removed it. I'd like to find out it to reply... It seemed to be a good coment, a good start to reflect!

I was hurried and hasty, and I felt my post was ill conceived. I removed it because I feel to be fair, and sufficiently informed, I should give a proper listen to the album (when I do get the chance) before offering commentary and impressions. It's like a review, one should give music a chance to sink in before flapping one's gums ...erm, I mean typing out one's thoughts. :) Really, though, there are far more knowledgeable people than I who could offer much more informed musical insight and you'd be much better off in discussion with those people (there are quite a few talented musicians/ composers and people who really know their music theory here).
I will reiterate one thing though (not having to do with your sound itself). The musical influences field of myspace should be redone. Some
search that site by looking for "influenced by" bands, and it's a good
way to share your musical passions with others as well as giving
insight into your music (even if it doesn't sound like your music it
shows what's had an impact on your music -- some overdo it by
mentioning too many bands/artists which looks bad). As it is when I
check your influences part (which just has a last.fm and flickr link),
I get a phishing warning when I click on last.fm (that makes people
nervous), and the flickr link just has photos
related to your album and does not tell me about your influences.

You guys have a great sound, with heavy guitar.. good bass and fairly balanced against the drums... however, your singer who seems to sing fairly well and has vocal characteristics reminiscent of Geddy Lee, is totally obscured by the Guitar... I would do 2 things to correct it.
1. Bump up the vocals, bump down the Guitar, put a little stereo seperation between the two, yes this will kind of depress the widening you have on the guitar, but hearing the vocals clearly will really pull the music together. 2. Analyse the vocals with a spectrum analyzer, note the dominant frequencies, then notch out those frequencies on your guitar using a multiband, narrowband, narrow Q, equalizer..i.e Notch Filter.
JMHO
BTW, did I mention great composure...

Well...
Before all thanks for coments! I didn't say I sing in this band... but this is not important at the end. I red your coments:
for Logan: thanks for your advice, I think I will discuss it with the band at the earliest opportunity - about writing influences on myspace-. Anyway I think that what we want from music, and what we think we can do, is more important than influences. Right: a new band should introduce itself giving informations about influences and inserts itself in a "Genre". Is it necessary? We don't know exactly what we play; we have surely influences, it's clear... I think Porcupine Tree, Tool, Alter Bridge, but also Led Zeppelin, King Krimson, Rush too... we are "assorted"! Sorry for phishing warning, i didn't even know about this problem with our pages!

For pigboat: Thanks for your coment, good news hear that somebody cares about voice. I'm sorry it's obscured by guitars but now the mastering and mixing has finished...So this is the final result. However thanks for your advices! Great composure: is it positive or negative? Sorry for my bad English...

It's not a big deal, but having the influences listed ccan help more people to find your music; however, it's not as simple or obvious to search influences and sounds like in myspace as it once was. Some people would list hugely long and ridiculous influences lists so that more people would find them. I've often searched myspace by influence when looking for bands that have similarities to another. As for the music, personal preference only, I'd layer it more to give it a fuller and more nuanced sound -- mind you, a more minimalist approach can have the advantage of giving a more "live" and intimate sound. So many go overboard on studio trickery (some can't resist the temptation to overlay more and more sounds and overcomplicate the harmonics). More synths could be used to emulate more instruments, but for me that wouldn't quite be substitute for bringing in another instrument. I personally feel that bringing in a viola or some such instrument would elevate the music if it's feasible, but that's my chamber music bias talking. lol And I would like a little more eclecticism and surprises in the work, but you know the sound you want best.

Ok, we added influences on myspace page!
I thought about a cello, a viola or something similar for my past projects, but the difficulty to find out right people - who can play this instruments- for this kind of music let me think that this solution was an utopia... So I let the project go...
About eclecticism and surprises in the work: I think this is a first step for us and hope that a more complicate structure will develop in future songs...
