Indeed, that's what Get Out The Word is there for. |

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

At least he had the good grace to publish the source and writer.

Indeed. A review should be the original work of the person posting it. Can't see any reason why someone should not review their own work though. many musicians are more critical of their own efforts than their critics.
There is though a difference between reviewing and promoting.

I think reviewing your own album is acceptable, though a bit tacky.
I think posting someone else's review of your album is verboten. |

Even though he did give credit, he shouldn't post someone eles's review. I don't know if reviewing your own album is against the rules or not. I'll send him a PM.

If it is a copy from another web site, I'm pretty sure that's not allowed either. Can an admin confirm this? -Jeff |

I remember Steven Wilson rating his own albums. And giving them low marks, too.

I saw that too and wondered the same thing but isn't he just posting a review from another web site? He hasn't actually written the review himself as it says "Review from DPRP (Netherlands) (Mars 2009) Leo Koperdraat ".

I saw this review on the front page, and I was wondering if the musicians are allowed to review their own work. I have seen this done in the past, and it is pretty clear that by the author's username, he is the same person as the artist of the album. If an admin can answer this question that would be great
