Robert, if you like the 2nd one, the more difficult one, chances are you'll adore the debut. 

Also, the one that sinkadotentree just reviewed on the main page is pretty well regarded as a current day champ, though I've not personally heard it.  I keep seeing people speak very highly of it.

This band doesn't come cheap.  Luckily I found the first album used for $13.  That may be my best bet.

This is only the second time that I am listening to Kind of Blue.  As I told Micky not too long ago, my exposure to jazz has basically been almost entirely Bill Bruford related.  Aside from an album from Spiro Gyro, The Rippingtons, and Dave Weckl I haven't really owned any jazz albums until recently.
