Umm...no. I do have that Tool album, but I haven't listened to it in ages and don't recall what it sounds like.

Me too. But it has something to do with the fact that I like Neo. |
I like the bands that come first in everyone's mind, but there's a big amount of other music that simply doesn't scratch the surface.
Listening to the new neo releases over the last two years creates that impression.
Only this afternoon:
Darwin's Radio Template For A Generation - three epics (12-19 minutes), visible strength for something good, but hollow inside, in too many places
Days Before Tomorrow The Sky Is Falling - the opposite in length with simpler pieces, a mix of Rush and Marillion, extra alt/pop layers, nothing special
Dead Heroes Club - most promising yet, I'm listening to it right now, goes back to some Symphonic, instrumentally good, the vocalist ruins the picture a bit but then shapes up to remind of Gabriel
Something's missing in each. And the list is long.
|
I've only heard a couple of Darwin's Radio songs. I'm not familiar with the other 2 bands.
I checked out Greg Bear's Darwin's Radio novel from the library, but I ended up returning it without reading it. I'll probably try it again some time when I have more time to actually read it.

That sounds painful. How will they get the ship out of your head once it is completed?

It's like those ships in bottles, they built it to fit. If I ever get trapped in water all my great ideas can get in it and be saved while the silly ones drown.

Hey Pat. Congrats to your Phillies clinching their return spot to the playoffs. Hopefully, the Tigers will be joining them there this weekend.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but today is one of those days where I really should take up the habit.

I'm listening to Acoustic Ladyland's Living With A Tiger and I have definitely decided that the saxophone is too much for me on this one. There are a few decent songs on here, but there are some really bad songs on here to. Death By Platitude and Not So are downright horrible songs.

RIO de Janeiro wins the right to host the 2016 Summer Olympics over Madrid, Tokyo, and Chicago. Chicago was surprisingly eliminated in the first round despite or maybe as a result of President Obama's efforts.
