The O's have lost 11 in a row. Where is the team that Cal Ripken played for? Is this the new St. Louis Browns?

The Twins and Tigers are tied 1 to 1 going into the 7th inning of game 1 of their day night doubleheader and also of their 4 games winner take all series.  The Tigers left 7 guys on base in the first 4 innings, including 4 guys in scoring position.  i.e. I just know that that is going to come back to haunt them in the end. OuchAngry

The Twins have done it again.  2 runs in the top of the 10th inning and they now lead the Tigers 3 to 1 with Joe Nathan coming in for the 10th.  The Tigers have never beat Joe Nathan in his career, so odds are it isn't going to happen today.  Not scoring those runs earlier on did come back to haunt them.  They haven't had another hit since the 4th inning, and only had a leadoff walk in the 9th inning.  Denard Span robbed Ramon Santiago of a game winning double in the bottom of the 9th, and now we are where we are.

Yes, very fortunately.  The stress is almost unbearable.  LOL  You would think that a 5 to 0 lead with your ace pitcher on the mound that you would be able to safely enjoy the rest of the game.  Not barely hold on to a 6 to 5 win, with the tying run on 2nd base.  The Twins are a relentless bunch, who keep coming from behind to beat the Tigers; and unfortunately, they also do a great job of holding their leads against the Tigers.

It was really cold down there last night.  The weather is getting us prepared for playoff baseball.  The Tigers have their number 4 and number 5 pitchers going today and tomorrow, so hopefully, they can steal one of these 2 games and go into the weekend with a 2 game lead.  (Of course, my preference is that they steal both and clinch the division tomorrow.)

Isn't this the American League afterall?.... Bucholz allowed 3 HR's to Lind from Toronto and the BoSox almost won the game. No lead is safe in the AL till the final out is recorded.

The Phils bullpen is almost as ugly as the Pirates.

Well, the Tigers stole one from the Twins yesterday with a 7 to 2 victory.  For the first time all season they hit Carl Pavano around like the rest of the league has.  Magic number is 2.  Off to Comerica Park I go this afternoon, hopefully to celebrate the Tigers first division win since 1987.

With their 9 - 2 win over The Brewers reached the post season.

Now lets hunt the Dodgers, only 2 games bellow and 3 games left between both teams.

^Sorry Ivan the Dodgers will win at least one of these three at home. They will play their "A" pitchers with thier "A" players until they do.  Unlike what they did this last week. Angry Torre should know better.  He played these games like they had everything wrapped up.

Good luck to the Rocks against anyone elseThumbs Up

The Tigers definitely laid an egg yesterday.  The fans showed up in droves to try and see them clinch, and the Tigers may have played their worst game of the year.  The Twins walked 6 batters, hit a batter and committed 4 errors, and yet the Tigers only managed 1 run when it counted, and 2 more late runs after it was all over.  The collar is starting to get a little tight.

Anyhow, I felt before the series that the Tigers had to win at least 2 of the games, and they did that.  They are still in good shape going into the weekend, but you know that Ozzie Guillen would love to knock the Tigers out of the playoffs.  This is the White Sox' playoffs as far as they are concerned.  Good think that the Twins are going to have to try and beat Greinke in order to get a sweep.

All the Buccos have to do is win 1 of 3 from the Reds and they will not have lost a 100 games this season.
