   It seems that electronic music had it's birth in the music of 20th century composers like John Cage, George Crumb and the list goes on forever it seems.

From the mid-sixties to the early 70's electronic music's early creations were in a growing process. Wendy Carlos performed Bach on the synth and also wrote the first electronic album Sonic Seasonings which combined the sounds of nature with electronics. Beaver+Krause, Mort Garson, Ruth White and Terry Riley were all innovators in the field.

And lets not forget David Bedford.........................
Tangerine Dream's early style 1970-1979 with all it's musical transitions introduced a variety of unique musical styles to electronic. However, during the 80's it seems they took a turn a different direction and chose to write new age.

Klaus Schulze, Neuronium, Pauline Anna Strom and Jeff Grienke were all superb in composing original electronic compositions. Pauline Anna Strom, a blind lady from the west coast recorded the most darkest, most errie electronic music that I've ever heard.

Okay so you have a lot of great artists and then the term Electronica was invented. First attempt to place electronic music with a dance beat. The exploitation into the idea of making a fast buck with a style that had stayed on the underground for many years, made me feel ill.  Klaus Schulze titles in record shops were now placed in with the electronica section. Using an excerpt from Tangerine Dream's Atem and looping it over a dance beat was quite a disgrace to the world of electronic music.
