All YES Appreciation Thread

Good order, I can see the logic.  It'll move around over time a little.  Certain things are bound to happen, like Tales spending time, even a lot, at number one.  Fragile giving way to Relayer for a while.  They're all great albums though.  Well, except for Tormato.  But I confess to a bit of a soft spot sometimes even for parts of that.  Don't miss the first two records by the way, Yes and Time and a Word.

Thats my take on it.

I have no idea how any of you could put Tormato at the bottom of the list... A fine album, easily one of the best played.

I think Tormato is one of their best, believe it or not... For me, its only great when I put it in context with my love for prog... It was one of my first ever Prog albums and one of my first YES albums (Along with Magnification and Relayer).

I can't really think of anything that makes it a bad album, to be honest.

Thanks -Joel Well, that depends on your funds situation I guess.  As you can see from looking it up here at PA, it's songs from the first two records plus the America/Dear Father single.  I like the selections.  So it's worth it perhaps if you listen to "albums", otherwise you might have come by this material other ways.

Certainly worth it if it is cheaper for you buying this that the first two albums separately, and I also far prefer the Yes version of America to that of Mr Emerson & pals

Didn't end up getting Yesterdays, but instead, I bought...

- The mini LP gatefold, 2007 remaster of Close To The Edge (A gift back to my dad for the Marillion DVD's )
- A copy of the YesSongs DVD (He still never bought the CD, so I thought this might be a good place to start)

Hehe, yep... Thats what about 95% of presents for my Dad are... (Speaking of which, Father's Day in Australia soon... Need something big this year ... Last year, I got him Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream, which in turn made me love them...)

I'm thinking A YES T-shirt from their site, but the only difficulty with that is having to wait every day to grab it and hide it when it arrives
