The Bends for me. Ok Computer is great but I still like The Bends more, both albums are far superior to most of the annoying whiny crap they released later in my opinion. It doesn't surprise me that most prog fans won't vote for The Bends cos it's a pop/rock album and not as wierd and progressive as the others, but that doesn't make it worse at all. I was into britpop long before I got into prog, and The Bends is still one of my favourite albums from that time. I agree about Pablo Honey being the weakest by far though, except for Creep.

Okay, yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

Damn those Muse fans! What with their conspiracy theories and the like.

The writing was there (obviously not to the extent it is now), but the production definitely wasn't

Now, OK Computer wins for me, but both it and The Bends are masterpieces. I don't see the U2 comparisons unless you really can't distinguish one British vocalist from the next. The music is texturally, melodically and intellectually in a completely different league. I'm not surprised than many prog fans don't quite love The Bends because it's not so blatantly progressive or whatever, but i truly is a singular, incredible work.

It may interest you to learn that Bono is in fact Irish rather than British..Wink

The Bends is the best by the way, far superior to the overrated OK Computer

I belive that from early "Radiohead", the OK Computer album is the one that defines better the relation with the depths of prog rock

OK Computer by a country mile.

Although The Bends is quite brilliant as well, albeit not as proggy.

Pablo Honey is a post-grunge, early Britpop effort, with a few flashes of their later brilliance.
