Hi all!

I’m a newbie here, I’ve made some posts and reviews here but I never noticed this "Newbies Introduction Area". So... here I am.

I’m from San Jose, Costa Rica (Yes... in Central America we hear prog too Smile). I’m an Statistician and a frustrated guitarist.

I guess I should tell you what I’m listening to, here’s a summary:

I’m a big fan of Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Anathema, Meshuggah, Beardfish, Tool, Blackfield, Blotted Science, Deadsoul Tribe, Devil Doll, Dredg, Ephrat, Fantömas, Gazpacho, Mastodon, Pain of Salvation, Pink Floyd (of course), Riverside, Devin Townsend, The Mars Volta, and the music in general.

I think that’s all.

Have a nice day Smile

Hey there! Doesn't look like we have many bands in common. I like Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Anathema & Pink Floyd from your list.
Still, it's fun to see that there are prog fans from all over the world!
Welcome proghead! Hug

Hey, welcome from me, too, always good to see new people around here! Since you're from the region yourself, what would you say is the best prog from Central America to lay one's hands on?

Thanks!!! I’ve seen your Japanese prog rock blog and it’s amazing!!! There’s a lot of interesting stuffs in there!!! I really enjoyed Yosuke Yamasita Trio (I’m a big fan of jazz fusion). I look forward to hear more of the other stuffs that you have in your blog.

Kind regards

Thanks!!! Believe it or not here in Central America we have a vast selection of prog bands!!! The only issue is that most of them never release an album Confused. I can recommend you a band that it’s formed by some friends of mine. It’s called Time’s Forgotten and the last thing that I knew about them is that they have caught Steven Wilson’s attention (Yes... the guy from Porcupine Tree).

You can check some songs here:

And if you want to hear more stuffs here´s the site of the band:

Have a nice day!!!
