I think that Luca showed us path. We all can make our versions of map.

Let's make a map collection of progland. Something like, where everyone can have his own map. By his own choose of names and also his own taste + artistic feelings and skills.

Isn't is great idea ? I hope to see that idea coming thru, to see maps of other people too.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Clap  Luca, if I may, there have been a lot of suggestions here that are borderline or more personal.  But if you do a revision, there really ought to be Topographic Oceans.

Why must my spell-checker continually underline the word "prog"?

Of course, the oceans will be strangled by a pass named Gates Of Delirium Wink

What about the Garden Of Geda?

Or...

The Solid Space?

But on a serious note, you HAVE to put Olias Of Sunhillow areas in there....

Wow, this a really cool map!

My map (if I were gifted with any sort of drawing/sketching abilities) would include plenty of Yes, Porcupine Tree and Opeth locations!
I likes musics

Hi,

We could add a few things in there too ... and make sure that AD2 is visible on the map.

Yeti
Wolf City
Mozambique
... and one or two from Made in Germany ...

I sure hope that Dark Side didn't see this ... but I can imagine how this idea would be a nightmare for him.

As a point of reference, we need to locate someone that has scan'd the original cd sleeve for Man's Be Good To Yourself ..." which had a map of Wales with musicians on it instead of cities ... and you could see the inter marriages ... it was actually very informative and actually made sense as to the majority of musicians and how they came together ...

In the UK at least we mark all famous battle sites on our maps with crossed cavalry swords and the date, so maybe we could have:

The Battle of Epping Forest (1972)
The Battle of Evermore (1971)
Ogre Battle (1974)

and some more I just can't remember right now
It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

You are going to need an A-Z with all these other places that people keep sending. Have you got the time? Beware of their geographical knowledge though. Alaska is IN the USA?
