Are there any shows that you've seen that you consider yourself lucky to have seen them? //
Are there any shows that you missed recently and that you'd have liked to see?

Shows that I've seen: Roger Waters, VDGG, Radiohead, Paul McCartney
Shows that I missed: Opeth and Le Orme

EDIT: I will finally probably see Le Orme! Big smile

I had to choose between seeing James Brown or Parliament ...I chose Parliament, which turned out to be an absolutely phenomenal show, but then JB died only a few months later ...I'll never get that opportunity again Cry

Sorry for you. Well, in the shows that I've missed, I forgot Jeff Beck. It was the same day I saw VDGG. But I don't regret my choice Tongue Oh, did I say that I already bought the tickets for Jeff beck when I heard of VDGG's gig? Stern Smile

Lucky to have seen Echolyn for 5 $ in a small bar.
Lucky to have seen PFM for a rare appearance in my hometown
Lucky to have seen Porcupine Tree for the Fear of... Tour
Unlucky to have seen only half of a Flower King concert because of a "electrical failure"

I would like to see KIng Crimson someday, Pain of Salvation and Transatlantic

Saw Grobschnitt do Solar Music when I was just 16. It was on the Rockpommel`s Land tour. First half was Rockpommel`s Land second part was Solar Music. Was on a school trip to West Germany and we were billeted with German students in their home. The guy I was staying with had an older brother that brought us to the show. Absolutely mindblowing. It was the show in Muhlheim that was made into Solar Music Live LP.

Lucky - the Decemberist's current tour (best show I've seen in years!)
Unlucky - Yes' 2008 U.S. tour (canceled after I bought tickets).

I'll throw in Neil Young's Shocking Pinks tour of 1983 as the unluckiest concert I did attend.  That album was so bad David Geffen sued him over it!  I saw him in Wichita Kansas and it's the only time I ever saw Young where fans actually booed him.  There was an old stoned hippie sitting next to me who starting crying LOL

Lucky: Rick Wakeman in Hampton Court Palace.
Unlucky: Many years ago, my grandmother told me, while we were eating our meal, that in that very day Focus was having a concer in the capital of my country, Mexico (I live 3 hours on car from the capital); If I had known, perhaps I would have gone. Some years later, while I was investigating a bit about Il Balleto di Bronzo, I learned that that tour from Focus also included Il Balleto di Bronzo, which I now know and like a lot.
I also consider unlucky that I didn't know Pink Floyd at their last world tour, so I didn´t go. Nor did I know Yes the last time they toured with Jon Anderson and Wakeman (I think that happened at about the year I started buying their albums).

Lucky: Stevie Ray Vaughan just months before he died in the helicopter crash and Andres Segovia just a couple of years before he passed away.  Cry On a brighter, more proggy note: Jon Anderson performing with Kitaro where Midori was also in the band, and the Dream Theater - ELP - Deep Purple powerhouse show.  Star One more: Rainbow in Winterland where I survived the riot caused by Dio throwing part of his microphone stand into the audience.  Ouch

Unlucky: REO Speedwagon headlining over Rainbow in Winterland Angry, and blowing off the Paco de Lucia/Al Di Meola/John McLaughlin concert on a certain Friday night in San Francisco.  I am still kicking myself for that one. UnhappyUnhappyUnhappy  However, I was lucky enough to see Al Di Meola play in a small high school auditorium a few years later, as well as one more time a few years ago where I actually got to talk to him and shake his hand. Thumbs Up

Lucky: Seeing Cynic 2 years ago, when they reunited, seeing Anekdoten a year ago in a small pub in Leuven.

Unlucky: I had to go back home from Belgium on the 19th of June. On the 20th there was a Dillinger Escape/Between the Buried/Meshuggah gig in Bruxelles. Still regret it.
