Sorry if this has come up before.  I really have not been in here in a while.

My cd player broke and it is hard to find a cd player these days.  I have to go to a high end shop or a thrift shop. I told someone I wnated a cd player and they thought it was retro.Shocked

I'm an old guy, relatively, and like to hold onto something before I play it.  A good package can also give some information you otherwise would not get.  The download world seems centered around individual songs, but I've always liked albums - I have never bought a single song in any form.

It's very rare for me to download anything.  I buy the CDs unless they're incredibly overpriced, in which case I hope the band is on eMusic.  If not, I wait for a good opportunity to get the CD for something I'd consider reasonable.

I really "need" a hard copy.  Even the little bit of stuff I have downloaded first, I still needed a hard copy.  I do expect a lyrics booklet, when applicable, and some quality album art, even though the CD format has made this more challenging.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I only buy cds.

I would download songs that artists made available on their website and then buy the full cd at a certain point but I never cherrypicked songs. I always wanted the album.

But these days I am more casual about music and only like a select few metal or prog bands.  I got into prog through metal.  I wonder if it is time to change.

I do both, but I still prefer to buy LPs over CDs.  I have many CDs but I don't really like CDs that much (so lame that most of mine have little to no extras). DVDs I'm keener on (but I expect lots of bonus features). Commonly I'd rather pay for digital downloads.  I'm kind of surprised that CDs are still as popular as they are.

I am still addicted to packaging. I love album art and I have not found digital media to be physically gratifying in the way a booklet is.

I do buy the physical thing, if the price is right.

There's almost no chance of me paying for an mp3 only album.

I buy cd's mostly, but I have also downloaded music sometimes. I much prefer buying cd's. The sound quality of the cd's is much better in my ears than most of the music I downloaded. Plus, as some before me remarked, I would like to have something in my hands / the real thing.

CD's and vinyls, sometimes even cassettes. I've never bought a download and I never will.
