So my wife was having a little medical procedure done this morning. I'd been up since 4:00 AM so that we could be at the hospital right on time, at 6:00, and so was a bit dazed and confused. I know I'm going to be sitting around idly for a few hours, so bring my IPod. After listening to Zappa's
Broken Hearts Are For a****les (which is apropos for said medical procedure..."ram it ram it ram it ram it up your poop chute"...), I stumble across two versions of the old classic
I'm Into Somthing Good, one by Herman's Hermits, one by Marianne Faithfull. (Ha, and you thought
your IPod contained strange stuff.)
So, for those who have heard both (I realize this may be a very narrow audience), do you prefer the great British Invasion innocence of ol' Herman's version, or the wicked irony inherent in Marianne's version (which has Billy Corgan's paws all over it)?
