Right now I¦m totally into David Bowies first two records he recorded in Berlin , that he produced with Tony Visconti and Brian Eno (Roxy Music).. The LP:s "Heroes" and "Low" are absolutley excellent, electronic, revolutionary, beautyfull and fantastic!

Although i've only recently bought "Heroes" and listened to it once, i'm not too impressed. I'm hoping its a grower though.

I bought most of bowie's back catalogue for cheap in a local music store but haven't had the time to listen yet. I'm working my way through slooowly. (only listened to Space Oddity so far...)

Bowie's heyday was the early 70's with Ziggy, Alladdin and 1984. Young Americans was a semi-good disc and the Berlin years had a few good songs, but he was beyond the best he could do.

Low is the best album of the three in terms of the material, although Heroes probably has the more striking contrasts. I love the idea that Bowie and Eno could work on something like Breaking Glass and decide that after a minute and a half they had said

If you like the Low / Eno era Bowie albums check out the CLUSTER albums ZUCKERZEIT and SOWIESOSO .These were definately an influence on Bowie and ,dare I say it, Eno who went onto record with them.

Low is arguabley the most powerful and inventive LP of the 1970's. Nothing to do with Prog rock of course.But genius none the less.

Lodger is the most adventurous of the 3 albums, but the hardest to get into. Low was recorded in the wake of Bowie sharing a flat in Berlin with Iggy Pop while they both kicked their coke habits. Scary Monsters is also of interest - Eno did not participate and it's a much more straightforward rock album then the Berlin trilogy, but it does feature some superb lead guitar from Robert Fripp.

As Phallus Dei said, classic stuff - and nice to see those old Cabaret Voltaire eps/singles there.

I respect these Bowie's  albums most! His singing voice is also much better than in the early 70's.
