Hi prog folks. We are trying to organise a series of prog nights in London. What would you expect from a night under the prog theme? There will be prog bands and our DJ's will play prog songs and we are trying to carry this until late night after concerts. Share your ideas for contribution.

I would expect mostly good music and low attendance.

I'm sure there alot of new bands that would love to participate in such an event, though to really get it going you need a big name to draw attention to it..

There's an organization in the states NJ Proghouse which use various venues that run a series of prog concerts... they do a few a year, maybe break it up quarterly or something, and try to grab a big name like twice year to get recognized..

With a little time and recognition it should get easier..  If I was in London, I'd expect to eventually get to see Pallas, Pineapple Thief, Twin Zero, Yndi Halda, Oceansize, Mogwai, Magenta, Deer Hoof, Frost*, Threshold, Big Big Train, Guapo, The Reasoning, Pure Reason Revolution, Abel Ganz, 65daysofstatic, The Pirate Ship Quintet, shall I go on?  Tongue

I would expect beer.
Copious amounts of it.

Ironically I don't even drink at gigs, unless the band is really terrible like some hardcore punk band I once saw, but still, it's all in good fun to see people plastered.

Actually it will be an amateur stage and admission will not be that much to get more people there. Sure there will be enough beer for everyone :)
