Nope. Alchemist and Unitopia. Go check them out right now. I think Alchemist used to arrange some sort of prog metal festival occasionally. Anyway, great aussie bands both of 'em.

What about Stoyan Yankoulov and Shturzite? About Croatia, off the top of my head: Ashes You Leave, Death Of Folk, Ivan Mihaljevic, Slavogorje, Zagrob, Legen, Kries, Let 3, Kwadrat nodnoll., Dying Sun Ensemble, Sexa, Lunar, Radio Free Isaac, Tamara Obrovac & Transhistria Ensemble, Franci Blaković & Gori Usssi Winnetou, Acezantez Ensemble, Hesus Attor, Father, Sinteza, Lotos, Combinate, Matchless Gift, Etui Etui Soniczoil, Anti Music Band, Vjetice, Dee Dee Mellow, Blue Forest, Good Day Toadie, and that's only bands not on the PA yet. |

Just skimmed through this thread and found a section discussing Swedish prog but even though most of the famous acts were linked through the search function, I was surprised to see one of my favorites missing: Carptree
Unfortunately for gigs I live a little off but just a few weeks ago the wife and I happily went to an Opeth concert here in little Falun. It's strange how regular media in Sweden doesn't get how absolutely huge this group is internationally. Anekdoten is originally from Borlänge which is a mere 15 mins away, but I guess they moved to Stockholm because they needed a bigger music scene. |

I've actually found a great prog metal band :) (From Australia, Canberra to be specific)
They are called "Taliesin", a mix between "Porcupine Tree" and "Dream Theater", although leaning more towards the latter in My honest opinion. I just got their album, it's great. You can check them out on MySpace. http://www.myspace.com/taliesinband A bit of fun trivia - Their guitarist (Richard Moseley) is my friend's guitar teacher, and thats how I got onto them in the first place.Taliesin's MySpace! |

Tantra's Misterios e maravilhas is a great album! Also don't forget Petrus Castrus. But my favourite is jose Cid; 10000 anos depois entre Venus e Marte. |
